This is not the first time an actor or actresses has been discussed on this forum. And the characters are brought to life by these people only. If even they will support such nonsense and toxic writings obviously it will impact the audience aswell. No one accused the actress of anything but just merely stated that justifying such a toxic character doesn't sit well with us. We are all entitled to our opinions. If she is giving an interview publicly so we as viewers can discuss our perspectives publicly aswell. People look upto celebrities and value their opinions.

No one is accusing Shruti of being vile in real life, so take a deep breath and actually READ what’s being said. The criticism is about how she chooses to justify Vidya’s actions in ways that don’t align with what’s actually been shown on screen. There’s a difference between defending a character and completely whitewashing them. Plenty of actors acknowledge their character’s flaws—Anita Raaj does it, many others do it—so why is Shruti acting like Vidya is some helpless, misunderstood soul when she’s clearly manipulative and self-serving?

And sure, actors support their characters, but that doesn’t mean they have to invent scenes that never happened. No one is blaming the production house for her interviews—those are her words, her choices. If she chooses to pretend Vidya never emotionally blackmailed Armaan, never used him as a shield, and was always a loving mother, people WILL call her out. She’s not just giving a character’s POV; she’s straight-up rewriting the script.

So before jumping in with the "Shame on you for criticizing an actress" outrage, maybe use some common sense. No one is saying Shruti is a bad person, just that her logic in defending Vidya is ridiculous. If she wants to glorify a toxic character, that’s her choice, but let’s not pretend people are wrong for pointing out how absurd it is.

Thank you, di! This isn’t the first time an actor has been discussed on this forum, and it definitely won’t be the last. Actors bring characters to life, and if they go out of their way to justify toxic behavior, of course, it’s going to rub people the wrong way. No one is attacking Shruti personally—people are just pointing out that defending a problematic character like Vidya as if she’s flawless is misleading and unnecessary. It’s about accountability, not hate.

And let’s be real, celebrities influence public opinion. If an actor publicly defends a character who emotionally manipulates her son and enables his mistreatment, it sends the wrong message. It’s one thing to explain a character’s motivations, but it’s another to rewrite their entire arc to fit a personal narrative. If she’s making public statements, then viewers have every right to discuss them publicly. Simple as that.

This is a forum for a reason. People keep criticizing Harshad, Pranali, Samriddhi, Rohit, etc. So why the sudden outrage now? If people can praise an actor’s take on their character, they can also criticize it when it doesn’t make sense. That’s how discussions work.
