I would not bat an eyelid if Karan had talked only about his own work when using this comparison...as for the term conviction...well...conviction in what exactly...there could be the conviction that nostalgia will give Gadar 2 (and handpump) succes... there could be the conviction that the amount of unabashed violence would give a movie success...the conviction that the charisma of the male lead pushes the movie to success...very different convictions (right?). Karan had a reason to talk about these movies exactly...why not use examples out of the Hindi movie filmindustry from the past - he has the respective knowledge...
