Not a good idea unless they make changes. The stalking bits haven't aged well.

How can you not remember it ? It was supposed to be the com of the romcom . He stalks her and harasses her relentlessly. Until she gives in because no actually means yes and all you need to do is stalk harass tease invalidate and mock the woman to get her to say yes. Then there's the 'prank' at the hotel where he thinks it would be funny to let her think they had sex the previous night. When she freaks out he says he would never rape an Indian girl when she's drunk because he knows what izzat means to Indian girls. It's okay to rape girls of other ethnicities as they're all sl(_)ts with no izzat or Indian girls who aren't virgins and hence again no izzat.
The worst part ,for me personally was how her friends found all this funny. They laugh at her for being angry when he does all this . And you're supposed to think it was the father who infantalised her 🙄

Erm, are we talking about the DDLJ movie released in 1995 starring SRK and Kajol ? Below are the encounters of Raj and Simran -
Things from here did not even need Raj to stalk anyone. Even in the bridge scene where Raj was playing guitar, it was Simran who stalked him and came to talk to him.
Yeah I have no excuse to give on the pranks played by him because I LOVE him for those. If you don’t like them it’s personal choice. But to call Raj a stalker that too ‘relentless’ is exaggeration of highest level. Heck he didn’t even ‘pursue’ her. It was mutual and dream-like.

- Simran runs to catch the train. Raj extends his hand.
- Raj and co. have the same Euro-Rail booking, hence shows up in the same Opera show.
- Next day Raj finds Simran in the street to apologize (if you want to call this stalking, go ahead).
- Raj and Simran shops from same station store considering their Euro-Rail booking is same, hence same station.
- Simran is standing alongside the road and is in trouble. Clearly Raj drives through the road and co-incidentally sees her. It was very evident that he DID NOT stalk her AT ALL !

It was mutual and she loved it is an excuse that has been used by generations of stalkers to justify harassment. We don't have to get into some deep revisionist feminist critique of this movie to see how messed up it was but you obviously seem to misremember a lot so let's see.
* Simran nearly misses the train. Raj extends his hand . She manages to get on it.
* They get locked in the same compartment. She sits down in a corner. He sits right next to her. Starts humming hum tum ek kamre mein bandh ho. She glares at him. He leans on her. Says she looks like his grandma. She is annoyed. Keeps reading. He creeps up underneath the book almost laying his head on her lap . She shows her displeasure again. I don't remember what he did with the bra , I think he dangled it in front of her. Or maybe threw it at her.
* It's okay to have the same booking and show up at the same place. But after the interaction in the train there is just no need to keep initiating conversations ,that too of the annoying mocking kind or to be close to someone who doesn't like your company. At the Opera he does just that. There's an entire song dedicated to harassment where he follows her around, teases her ,leans on her ,breathes on her ,runs his fingers down her bare back , grabs her and drags her to the stage. Only to drop her. Throughout this song her annoyance is supposed to be 'amusing'.
* The next day he decides to apologise. Walks up to her. Says he shouldn't have behaved that way. Says he's sorry. Takes a rose out of his jacket and gives it to her. She thought it was a truce finally , says it's okay ,almost accepts the rose when he squeezes a water gun all over her face . Quite the apology. Fck this cnt.
* At the station he's again there. Right there. Getting souvenirs from the shop. Fair enough. They miss the train thanks to his nautanki. She looks worried. And he promptly grabs her by her top from behind. A piece of the top comes off and he eats it. ( Okay ,at this point I guess you need to cut him some slack because he could very well be the R word we don't use anymore. )
* Simran is in trouble. Raj drives by. It's not evident that he wasn't stalking her. Going by his behaviour until then there's a good chance he was. But okay maybe he wasn't. He comes to her rescue. Talks to the cops . And again leans too close , touches her ,pulls her close to him.
Simran does not stalk him in the mandolin scene. She approaches him and he doesn't seem to mind. Stalking is when you keep showing up right next to or behind someone after they ve made it quite clear that they don't like it, when you keep trying to initiate conversations when they're not interested. . Relentless is when you simply keep doing it . So no , not an exaggeration at all. Best case scenario - Raj is a mentally stunted weirdo with no social skills but in the second half we know that's not the case.
What prank is it that you love ? The rape one? Oh man. I don't know what to say.
Maybe we have seen two different movies because nothing you have said is in the movie I watched so many times except for the hotel wala scene. That scene more than anything else was just cringe but Raj is in no way a stalker, not once did he try to turn Simran’s no into yes or stalked her after she told him to leave her alone. I don’t know how you can turn a prank into a crime like you did in this post. Raj is a very complex character but he is not a stalker. Annoying, irritating, and sometimes a little silly yes, but he’s not s stalker.Originally posted by: WormikaGrubby

I’m not even going to comment on the rape part of your comment because I’m actually speechless at how you can twist the scene to this level.
What rape are you talking about?? Seriously how can you twist things to this extent?? They were both drunk and he thought it was a good idea to prank her into thinking they slept together the next morning. Do you understand the difference between sleeping together drunk and actually raping someone?? Do you remember how they were towards the end of the song?? They were wasted.Originally posted by: WormikaGrubby

I genuinely don’t know how you can bring rape into this but that’s your perspective and I’m glad most of the world doesn’t share the same view. I’M SPEECHLESS:
