To do what you're saying, they should've had minimum one show in Top 10 TRP wise and getting views on an average above 15 million to generate enough revenue (I'm not even a fan of the TRP metric and calculation but in this case it would be important.)

I think their last show which did well despite the competition was Jaan Nisar. The rest they've invested loads like they always do but haven't gotten the kind of returns they were expecting.

Meanwhile ARY's "bad" shows are also doing well either online or via TRPs. Hence Geo has to just buck up and do whatever they can do to remain in competition.

Geo is doing better than Hum in overall GRPs. Geo was no. 2 most watched channel in January. But their 8pm dramas aren't doing well except Dil-e-Nadaan.

Thats true. Hum has other problems too. They're too busy in nepotism, favouritism and elitism.

But in Geo vs Hum...wont the budget make a difference.

Geo's 8 pm shows have always had that grand look, even when it didn't have the most popular actors leading it. Meanwhile Hum's big dramas have also never looked as grand as Geo or even ARY. Not saying Hum doesn't have massive hits, but some of their big shows should've had a more larger-than-life vibe.

Hence if Geo's putting in more capital, its profit margin will be lower. Therefore, now given how average the channel is really doing, they're losing out on money or not making as much as they must have originally calculated.

The thing about Geo is that their 8pm dramas didn't perform well on TV last year but they compensated that with big blockbuster dramas on YouTube like Jaan Nisar & Kaffara. Other dramas like Khaie, Khumar, Shiddat & SMD have also performed well on YT last year & high YT views on these dramas have compensated their average TRPs. It'll remain to be seen if Geo can deliver blockbuster dramas like JaanNisar & Kaffara on Youtube this year or not.
