There was no need for secretively getting her to perform or give Arshi's ad to her as it wasn't the last ad in the world.. More than helping he dug his own and J's grave.. After a point it started to feel he thinks his equation with J is shameful which society shouldn't know hence kept on doing everything chupke.. in front of family he used to treat J like s*it

But obviously people went gaga over his manipulations coz Ani IT engineer thodi hai.. He's a world renowned psychiatrist who uses reverse psychology at the most absurd time..

Instead of doing this manipulative nonsense he could've have simply done everything in front of his family.. or atleast he could've said to J that he respects her and will stand for her.. J being an orphan needed that support rather than his reverse psychology.. That's what Vihaan is doing and it's so good to see.. But kya kare logon ko manipulative ml and dogli fl pasand aate hai.. a simple soft natured guy is chomu uncle.. Toh kya hua agar ml called Jhanak a characterless doormat, he gave her an ad shoot.. and that's what turu lob is.. respect and trust jaye bad mein..

I agree. But Ani’s doing things for Janak was unconditional. Where as Vihaan’s case it is kind of transactional. She helps him in one way and he helps her in another way. That is where Ani’s love for Janak stands out. Initially it started trying to help her in possible ways and after their Kashmir forced marriage, he felt responsible for her subconsciously and whatever followed that is everyone aware.Actuallu Ani lost so many things in the way while supporting Janak. But end of the day, Ani is human. He came with his own flaws, created mess and ended up hurting Janak many instances.

Anirudh, if judged in the usual itv standard lense for ML, then will be misread only..its an extremely complex, and layered character which needs to be analysed after shedding some of the typical itv inhibitions..sure, he is butchered to a great extent atp in the story...but so is Jhanak! Leena is making her do all those things that she detasted while actually being married...be it sindoor lagana, ek saath rehna, apne rishte ko manyata dena, jooth na bolna aur na sehna...look at her...what has she become! I think more than Ani, atp, it's Jhanak who has been butchered beyond repair...and this butchering is true for Arshi also! Her character was going towards a definitive outcome...turning a true leading force behind the story, especially after violation...but makers ruined everything by wwing her...all for episode count...what a waste of such a promising story and cast!

I don't think so. Ani barely did anything before the forced marriage. Bringing her to perform was Arshi's plan. And after marriage especially after accident track, his way of helping felt extremely selfish. It all came from a place of keeping J in his house, near him. If he was unconditional he would've thought of J before him. His family was beyond toxic, hated her, she tried to commit suicide yet he kept her in his house. Allowed everyone to insult her and infact he also started "insult acting" for her so called well being.

I feel if he was selfless he would've gotten her into a pg. And to some extent even J is wrong as she didn't leave despite having 7 lakhs. Eventually it's the results that matter. What Ani's support did? Daily humiliation, got poisoned, almost got married to an oldie and not a single day of happiness.

Both you and Goddy have valid points. It's not one or the either. Its a mix of both.

Ani did some very sacrificial things for J, but he also had a core insecurity, trust issues and jealous aspect that always came out at the worst possible time.

The whole story was contrived to ensure - good happened and when things were poised favorably for Runak - bad will stop it and recycle.
