Divyanka Tripathi Admits Feeling Like 'Barrier' For Husband, Vivek Dahiya, 'It's Highly Disturbing'

Divyanka Tripathi, in a recent interview, revealed how her popularity became a barrier in her husband, Vivek Dahiya's acting career.
Divyanka Tripathi was at the peak of her popularity when she married Vivek Dahiya in 2016. But, Vivek had just begun to earn fame, and their marriage led people to recognise him as her husband. In a new interview with Hindi Rush, Divyanka admitted that she feels disappointed with the whole situation and explained:
“Mai bilkul honest bolna chahungi, as a wife mujhe kabhi kabhi mujhe lagta hai vivek ke liye main raaste ka adanga hu, unki pragati mein, kyuki jab hum saath mein hote hai, log mujhe dekh rahe hota hai aur phir ek banda nazar andaaz ho raha hota hai.”
The actress shared that her husband, Vivek Dahiya, came alone in the industry. He was gaining popularity and doing well for him with time, but after marrying her, things changed for him. She shadowed Vivek, and as a wife and an actress, she feels bad about it. In her words:
"It's highly disturbing for me as a wife and as an actor also main chahungi ki mere saath jo vyakti hai woh nazar aaye for his efforts, and it's very disappointing jab aisa nahi ho raha hai."
Divyanka highlighted that her husband participated in the show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and did more web series and films, but people consider none of it. She can't understand why people don't have a sense of humanity to witness and appreciate someone's efforts.
Vivek Dahiya revealed he discusses his feelings about media perception with his wife, Divyanka
In an earlier interview with Etimes, Vivek revealed that when he decided to marry Divyanka, they had discussed the possibility that people would address him as her husband, and he accepted it. But, as years went by and he worked hard to establish his identity, he sometimes felt dejected when it didn't happen. Consequently, rather than keeping his feelings to himself, he discusses them with his wife.
He stays relevant because of her & her fame. Name one IV or media bite where he's not mentioned as her husband - PR game is carefully crafted by celebrities themselves, specially those with strong PR team. Media or audience can't be blamed when you promote yourself as" the couple " from social media to media galore. So that's that. If wanna have individual identity, got to seek individuality. But it's too late for that.
