First, I am no longer attached to the serial… I have an irritation about the makers in that I got played for a fool but any feelings of wistfulness about the Runak story is going going gone . in the sense that I have accepted that the Runak has been mutilated beyond belief so any connection to it for me seems a bit artificial tbh..So, I have no expectation to see anything worthwhile on that front. I don’t take anything seriously about what happens there except wanting to know yeh bakwas kab end hoga…
That said… Krushal Hiba made a place in my heart and so I will always gravitate to them in their scenes… not becos of Runak but despite them 😂
Now coming to your question on the makers and their modus operandi. I am going with a few scenarios of why they are doing this…but I do think it would be close to the scenarios I paint below..
1) Sitara channel and PH are working out a template where they can sustain a business plan for a time slot that is probably otherwise either low on TRP…but can fetch them revenue at that slot in a continued way..If Jhanak proves to be that cash cow they will look to sustain it. In this aspect, I am not sure what part does TRP number make a difference in the sponsorship stakes?
2) Jhanak is a linear plot… there’s nothing in the story and that’s been there from the start. Ani and Arshi were partners to be married but not yet married and any fallout wasn’t exactly of any earth shaking nature for which we needed to spend this much time. It’s only because of the peculiarity of the tale set up, so called moral angle and Ani’s delayed realisation of love etc that a good conflict was set up. In my view, Leena didn’t expect for this story to take off the way it did and it caused her to become ambitious to drag this and the montage change with Arshi etc…She realised that a serial with such poor reasoning yet drawing the interest could be sustained… here is where I am betting on this being a business move over anything else…Her keeping Arshi as the issue between Runak just keeps her coffers filled.. There is one template of the Ghum variety, one the DKP variety…could Leena’s be another template where they keep elongating the basic premise to the nth level and see how long the interest sustains?
