Kesari 2 ? Wasnt that based on a historical event ?
akki saar nahi sudhrega
ghar se utha ke sadak pe leaoga to producers

Yes, Kesari was a historical film about the Battle of Sarangarhi in 1897...now, six years later, Dharma wants to make w h a t exactly???
It's based on the life of C Sankaran Nair who was the only Indian on British's Viceroy Council and Advocate General. He resigned from the topmost post held by an Indian in the British government and took them to court in England for the Jalianwala Massacre. While he lost the case, it brought International coverage to the atrocities committed by the British and according to some historians was the beginning of the End for them. It was named something else but Dharma is trying to bank on the Sequel goodwill. Has nothing to do with the Battle of Sargharhi.
Basically Akshay’s films are flopping badly and one of his last successful films was Kesari, so now they want to piggy back on that and make “Kesari 2 “ - which has absolutely nothing to do with the first part. They’re gonna spin it as “period/historical movies” with “chapters”
Seriously, I doubt that this movie will live up to the events leading to the Amritsar massacre and following it. As far as I got to know, the original title of the movie was the name of the Indian lawyer, judge and politician Akshay (of course) plays in the movie (I wonder, which character Madhavan endorses).
"The untold story" isn't right as in the movie Sadar Udham (Vicky Kaushal), the Jallianwala Bagh massacre plays a vital role - and the way the British dealt with it even though Churchill vehemently condemned this attack and the Hunter Commission got the task to examine the massacre of an unarmed crowd by countrymen under the commando of the British brigadier general Reginald Dyer (not to confound with Michael O'Dwyer who many years later got assassinated by Sadar Udham). Don't know who'll play this Dyer who later stated that he ordered the extensive shooting "to punish the Indians for disobedience" and that he wasn't interested "to disperse the meeting".
I also think that it will be a very tough task for Karan Singh Tyagi, to whom this is his first work as a director.
Btw, for further information about the movie:
