No surprise... it was obvious that this movie would belong to the gore genre (which became censorboard approved and - in a big way - boxoffice-wise successful in 2023). I think, the display of violence is part of Indian Cinema but I feel that the detailed display of extreme violence seems to be something new.
Sumit is not one of those whose opinions matter to me... and I lost my interest in what Anupama Chopra has to comment...
Marco made more than its budget of about 30 cr (Sacnilk, incl yesterday), so the movie is even a 'hit', right?:
Week 2 Collection ₹ 16.3 Cr [Malayalam: 10.05 Cr Hindi: 4.65 Cr Telugu: 1.6 Cr Tamil: 0 Cr ]
Day 15 [3rd Friday] ₹ 2.1 Cr [Malayalam: 0.55 Cr Hindi: 0.85 Cr Telugu: 0.5 Cr Tamil: 0.2 Cr ]
Day 16 [3rd Saturday] ₹ 2.75 Cr [Malayalam: 0.7 Cr Hindi: 1.3 Cr Telugu: 0.5 Cr Tamil: 0.25 Cr ]
Total₹ 48.75 Cr [Malayalam: 38.62 Cr Hindi: 7.08 Cr Telugu: 2.6 Cr Tamil: 0.45 Cr]
... and Worldwide Collection ₹ 86 Cr (Overseas Collection ₹ 29.4 Cr + India Gross Collection ₹ 56.6 Cr)
Anyways, personally, I'm not interested in Splatter-Movies (or Slasher-Movies), so it's rare that I have to deal with extreme bloody violence in movies...it is far more disturbing that the violence shown is just showcasing to which extend human violence can go in reality and not only in a human mind...
