Isn't Kinnar Akhara only for people who identify as the third gender? So does she identify as one now? Coz if not, she didn't need to join them to take sanyaas.

This organisation is just a clout seeking endeavour by some activists. Sort of a saffron wing of LGBT folks. Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi is supposed to be a Mahamandaleshwar of this akhara . That's a title given to a learned person , who is knowledgeable enough to be teaching others and dishing sermons. Yet she does not know there's nothing called ' Nand Giri '. She says Mamta's new name is Yamai Mata Nand Giri or something. The name Giri is one of the ten names from the dashnami sampradaya and Ananda is the suffix that goes with the new name of the sanyasin. Eg Swami Avdheshananda Giri . So there's no Nand Giri. And even if it's Ananda giri that's a name given to male sanyasis Women get ones like prana etc. And it should be Mahamandaleshwari not mandaleshwar lol. This is basic stuff and Lakshmi doesn't seem to be aware of it. So you get an idea as to who is 'ordaining' Mamta. It's a farce. She showed up in an outfit with bell sleeves and had loads of make up on. Afterwards during the press conference she sat next to a 'Mataji' with ironed hair again with a lot of make up saying she was invited to accept that title. When a while ago Lakshmi had just said that Mamta kept pestering her saying mujhe koi pad chaahiye , title de do title de do and they told her she'll have to take up sanyas to get one.
The whole thing is extremely disrespectful .
I hope after seeing this a certain Ms Rautela doesn't decide she wants to be the Youngest and Richest Actress to be invited to become a Mandaleshwar
