I was so shocked when I heard this news today. And how traumatizing must it be for him and his kids.

Sonams’ Delhi house was robbed, Hemas place was robbed too. It’s just that things didn’t progress to assault and potential murder. This is very very bad, and likely these are inside jobs. The fact that Bebo wasn’t at home, and they didn’t have drivers makes me think they tried to rob Saif place thinking they’d be alone, but didn’t expect home owners to be there and fight back.

Saif is a very brave man, and Ibrahim is very smart to take his dad to the hospital in an auto… there is something called golden hour, which starts right after your are injured giving you the best chance of survival.

Robberies everywhere has been increasing be it US, UK, Canada. in Canada, we have home security and put cars in garages… and always keep things under lock/key. Celebs need to spend money on security and vet their house help better.

First on the bolded part - I think it depends on where you are in Canada? In my area, basically everyone's cars are out in the driveway and most people use their garage as storage units. I kid you not - I've seen entire living rooms built into people's garages. At my house, our cars are in the garage, but that's not true everywhere. And even with the garages, thieves can still get in. On my street alone, there's been 2 cars stolen from garages and a couple stolen from the street in the past few years and I think 1 house was even broken into a few years back. And I still remember this incident from about 8 years ago - someone called the cops thinking someone had messed with their car and we had like full out SWAT teams in our street, telling people to stay indoors as they examined the car. I mean the guy made it sound like someone had planted a bomb or something under his car!

@ Red: So true. There are some mixed stories out there about what happened, but both of them were smart and fast reacting. And that probably is what kept the damage to a minimal nature given that doctors are saying he will be discharged in a day or two.

Dang. One moment you are peacefully in the comforts of your home and probably thinking of going to bed. The very next moment you are stabbed, bleeding profusely and thinking of best way to save your life. Such a physical and mental trauma. The uncertainty of life and life events!

Wishing Saif a speedy recovery. It's sad when you read or hear that people aren't safe in their own homes anymore, even celebs. If a celeb isn't safe with all the staff and security in the world, then even regular people can't feel safe in their own homes. And that's not a good feeling because it means lack of trust and always looking over your shoulders.

Everyone should learn basic self defence maybe. May come in handy at some time.
