At the end of the day, he picks from what he thinks is the best. The views are decent but we still minimize them. It isn’t number 1 anymore, we should only compare with shows like Jaan Nisaar etc. These views that would be excellent for some other shows are being downplayed here. Why? Because this is a signature show, money has been spent on production, the creative team is well known. I understand that and all are valid points but maybe these very factors are what attracted Wahaj to the project too.

TBH I know people are into social dramas but I watch them very rarely. They are usually smaller projects with lower budgets so if Wahaj’s star power really suffers, I think he’ll still be able to bag projects like that and regain his critical acclaim. So I think he’ll be fine.

What views are you even flexing. Smd getting 8m views in a week and not even crossing 10m after 2 weeks is an embarrassment. If he did a faraar or tmnon and that got 5 6m, it would still have been an achievement giv3n the genre or the channel plus the critical appreciation.

Which a lister is doing 3rd lead in absolutely shit mega signature high budget commercial dramas that is also getting flop trps and struggling with views. Jn was bad drama that was roasted but got 2.5billion views at least. Radd and aiej get good trps and Sherry is praised by everyone and radd was really good quality wise. Hamza ali abbasi did a jej which got good trps. Feroze is doing humraaz and sanwal yaar pya which is a multistarrer but ferize will definitely noy be the 3rd lead. Even in khumar his ss was balanced.

I am not flexing about the views.

I am just saying what an A lister has to think before signing a show.

Jaan E Jahan got good trps but it wasn't the most talked about or discussed show. I have watched the show when it was on air so I know what kind of thing was happening. If you see views and comments you'll know the side track completely overshadowed their love track.

Wahaj is not 3rd lead here...if you consider screentime,than even Ayeza and Hamza are not lead couple of Jaan E Jahan because all the focus was on side track couple.

Which show will be hit or miss,its all about luck.. I dont blame the actor for this...Next time he should be more careful that's all we can hope.

jej, radd, aiej all have fetched less views and anyway not content based dramas too. As I told before Feroze and Danish has given dramas with less views anyway. About trps, any shit on ARY is anyway fetching it, tv viewers are like just bond to some channel, thats not case with geo channel, very rarely geo channel fetches good trp. SMD getting that 9M views in week is defnately deserve flexing, its just labeled as signature drama, but look at the drama, slow paced one, shot for half episodes and running for full episodes. And all dramas across channels are being shot with good quality, no big deal. that too here they are making more episodes and running for long and getting benefited and still fetching views and you can't compare a drama like Jaan e Nisar with this, Jaan e Nisar is a kind of shit content which will fetch views.

I even said before smd aired that lack of audience interest in smd before release was very concerning based on empirical data, and not to expect double digit trp. But 5s ki trp for e1 toh maine worst case scenario main bhi nahi sochi thi.

Also msm started with trp in 4s and 5s less than smd and now climbed to 9s, 2 pts more than smd. If show is liked it breaks out no matter the channel. Ppl said green is small channel and 3 4m views is the ceiling. Now look at iqtidar and dunyapur

Yeh sab bakwas baatein. A show that's liked by masses will break out.

smd is as shit if not worse shit than jn. Jn was at lesst entertaining for a while. Smd is not some parallel cinema. It was made to make money. All the sensationalism ottism and zabarsasti ka masala they thought wud get views but it backfired.

Strategy, perseverance, making the right connections and of course luck (luck is always an element to success) got him to TB which catapulted his fame. He has got whole career to do social dramas...when he isn’t in the peak of his career anymore..

This was supposed to be a 30 episode drama..now if they stretch and drag it,obviously Wahaj's screentime had to be cut...Its no way right and playing with the emotions of fans..but what can be done if makers are greedy..

Also I have no complaints regarding his character...just the acting was inconsistent in some scenes..unfortunately this kind of story based on ensemble cast didn't work for him because people want to see him only...next time he should do a drama which completely focus on him...and is ML-centric. That's all we can hope.

I agree SMD doesn't have a mass appeal..SMD is a type of story which is not based on chemistry or a simple love story..but makers have falsely marketed it as some kind of classic love story..and only promoted Wahaj-Maya in the first 3 teasers...they shouldn’t have given people high hopes...that's all I would say.

For a wahaj ali mega signature project post tb with this starcast and budget should be making ehram e junoon kaffara or rej numbers on yt at least. Especially with low trps, yt views shud be higher to compensate. Forget jn, kmkt or im, falling behind jafa, khaie, kaffara, iqtidar, rah e junoon, dunyapur and msm is not a good look. At this rate, smd wont even make it to top 10 in terms of yt views among 2024 shows.
