Dumb toh hai but I think it also has to do with his narcissism. He just doesn't want to accept in front of everyone that he might have been wrong in aligning with AviSha. Toh bas ignore kar deta hai wo point.

Top 2 toh aise bhi jaa raha hai, toh why bother
