Alright, here's my what-if for 'What if: Shyam had not arrived to help Khushi?'

A real knight in shining armor would have arrived. He would have saved Khushi, impressed Shashi and won Guptas' hearts. But since Khushi and Arnav were destined to be together, this savior guy would be Arnav's cousin Dhruv Singh Raizada- Manorama's younger son, Akash's younger brother. He would develop little crush on Khushi. Through him, Khushi would be a constant presence in Arnav's life, forcing him to address his feelings for her. Manorama mami too would like Khushi since the beginning as Dhruv is her dearest and his 'choice' would be hers too. Khushi, on the other hand, finds Dhruv as a good friend but has love-hate feelings for Arnav singh raizada. Dhruv wants to confess his feelings to Khushi but eventually as he sees undeniable pull between his Arnav bhai and his good friend Khush, he would back off. Perhaps, he would be paired with La later...

How does that sound? Also, are we supposed to write a proper story-story or just summarized version like this is good? And can we jump to in between what-ifs or have to select next one available?

Answering these questions first -

This summary is good enough smiley20 we don't need a well written story... just an exploration of ideas

You can pick any what if scenario you want... there's no particular order to follow. You can also go beyond the ones provided (as long as the original scene / starting point is from this Lucknow - office track). I just gave the prompts to make it simple to begin with.

How does that sound?

This is a wonderfully thought out scenario... especially because it includes Dhruv... a character that the fandom (Aparna's Vignettes in particular) have turned into a favorite of mine smiley9.

But, I doubt Mami would like Khushi just because Dhruv likes her. After all, Aakash is also her Raj Dulara... but she didn't like Payal initially. I think her first impression about Khushi would always be the same because she would simply see a poor girl... no matter who else likes her or what her other qualities are. In this aspect, Arnav has taken after his Mami... unke liye Paisa, Status... ye sab hi maayne rakhta hai (funny considering Mami's own background smiley36).

Aur Lavanya ke saath to hume NK hi chahiye... Dhruv ke liye kisi aur ko dhundna padega smiley17smiley17 (just kidding smiley36)

My alternate ending for prompt 9 what if Khushi had not resigned after the guest house incident…

Scene: The Morning After the Guest House Incident

Khushi is seated at her desk in AR Designs, visibly pale but determined. She refuses to be defeated by Arnav Singh Raizada’s ruthlessness. Arnav, walking past her with his usual commanding aura, halts in surprise, seeing her still working.

Arnav (with narrowed eyes): “Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho? Tumhe toh resign karna tha.”

Khushi (calm but resolute): “Kyun? Aapne socha ki aapki ek dhamki se main haar maan jaungi? Hum Lucknow ke hain, aur humse ek baat sikhi hai—mushkilein chahe jitni bhi badi ho, hum kabhi peeche nahi hat-te.”

Arnav is taken aback by her unshaken spirit. For the first time, he sees not just defiance but strength in her eyes.

Arnav (mockingly): “Tumhe lagta hai yeh job tumhare bas ki baat hai? Tumhari galtiyon ki wajah se mujhe clients ke saamne embarrassment hota hai.”

Khushi (firmly): “Aur aapko lagta hai aap galat nahi hote? Guest house ki jo halat thi, uski zimmedari kiski thi? Agar us din kuch hota, toh zimmedar kaun hota, Mr. Raizada?”

Her words strike a chord, forcing Arnav to pause. The weight of guilt begins to creep in, though he masks it with his usual arrogance.

Arnav (coldly): “Tum apne kaam se matlab rakho. Personal remarks ki zarurat nahi hai.”

Khushi (with a faint smile): “Jab aapka kaam hi personal ho jaye, toh remarks kaise avoid karoon?”

Seeing her unwavering determination, Arnav clenches his jaw but walks away without another word. Deep inside, however, her words stay with him.

Over the Next Few Days

Khushi continues to work at AR Designs, proving her worth through her sincerity and innovative ideas. Arnav, though still outwardly strict, starts noticing her capabilities. Small moments—like Khushi standing up for a junior employee or finding creative solutions—chip away at his icy demeanor.

Meanwhile, Khushi’s decision not to resign sparks a subtle shift in their dynamic. While she grows more confident in handling his temper, Arnav finds himself intrigued by her resilience.

One evening, while reviewing designs late at the office, Arnav comes across a file prepared by Khushi. The concepts are brilliant, capturing something even he hadn’t envisioned. Intrigued, he calls her into his office.

Arnav: “Tumne yeh designs banaye?”

Khushi (nervously): “Haan… woh… maine socha tha ki client ko yeh pasand aa sakta hai.”

Arnav: “Kafi acha kaam kiya hai. Main galat tha tumhare baare mein.”

Khushi is stunned. For the first time, there’s no sarcasm, no sharpness—just honesty.

Khushi (softly): “Aap kabhi apne galat hone ko accept karenge, mujhe laga nahi tha.”

Arnav (smirking slightly): “Main bhi insaan hoon, Khushi Kumari Gupta.”

The moment marks a turning point in their relationship—less antagonism, more understanding.

Instead of Khushi leaving AR Designs, her persistence leads Arnav to gradually respect her, not just as an employee but as a person. Their story becomes a tale of mutual growth, where Arnav learns to confront his own flaws and Khushi discovers her strength in standing firm against life’s challenges.

The guest house incident becomes the foundation of a bond built on mutual admiration and eventual love—a love that thrives not on misunderstandings but on shared resilience and respect.

Thanks a lot for liking my short take. I always wanted to see this on the show. I wish it was envisioned by the makers.

Alas! Indian television.

Never mind our creative ideas are more than enough to fulfill our visions for alternative endings.

Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity.

Alternate Ending 1- Arnav Does Not Stop Khushi After the Fashion Show Fiasco

Khushi Leaves AR After Being Humiliated

After being publicly humiliated by Arnav Singh Raizada at the fashion show, Khushi decides to leave AR Designs. She packs up her belongings and quietly resigns, her heart heavy with hurt and disappointment. Arnav watches her leave but, blinded by his ego and rage, does nothing to stop her.

Khushi (to herself):

“Humari self-respect humare liye sabse zaroori hai. Ek aise insaan ke saath kaam karna jo sirf beizzati karta hai, wo humse nahi hoga.”

She walks out of AR Designs, vowing never to cross paths with Arnav again.

Khushi Rebuilds Her Life

Determined to start fresh, Khushi joins a new job at a small event management company. Her warmth, creativity, and resilience quickly earn her recognition. Despite her heartbreak, she pours her energy into her work, slowly regaining her confidence.

Meanwhile, Arnav immerses himself in work but finds it increasingly difficult to focus. The absence of Khushi nags at him, though he refuses to admit why.

Arnav Realizes His Mistake

Months later, Arnav stumbles upon a charity event organized by Khushi’s new company. To his surprise, the event is impeccably planned, with every detail radiating Khushi’s signature charm. Watching her from a distance, he is struck by the realization that he has not just lost a talented employee but someone who had brought an inexplicable spark to his life.

Arnav (to himself):

“Kyun lagta hai jaise maine kuch zaruri kho diya hai? Woh ladki… woh humesha mujhe challenge karti thi, par uske jaane ke baad sab khali sa lagta hai.”

Fate Brings Them Together Again

During the event, Khushi’s boss introduces her to Arnav, not knowing their shared history.

Boss:

“Mr. Raizada, meet Khushi Gupta. She’s the creative mind behind this event.”

Khushi’s polite but distant demeanor catches Arnav off guard. Her lack of warmth unsettles him, and for the first time, he feels the weight of his actions.

Arnav:

“Good job, Ms. Gupta. I hope you’re doing well.”

Khushi (with a faint smile):

“Thank you, Mr. Raizada. Excuse me, I have other tasks to attend to.”

She walks away, leaving Arnav to grapple with the uncomfortable truth: he had pushed away someone who mattered.

Arnav Tries to Make Amends

Unable to ignore his guilt, Arnav decides to apologize. He visits Khushi at her office, but she refuses to entertain him.

Khushi:

“Apology? Woh bhi aapse? Arnav Singh Raizada ko kabse apni galti ka ehsaas hone laga?”

Arnav (sincerely):

“Mujhe galti ka ehsaas ho chuka hai, Khushi. Jo maine tumhare saath kiya, uska koi excuse nahi hai. Main bas ek mauka chahta hoon… tumse baat karne ka.”

Though hesitant, Khushi agrees to hear him out.

A Second Chance at Trust

Over time, Arnav’s efforts to make amends soften Khushi’s guarded heart. He acknowledges her talent and courage, and for the first time, allows himself to be vulnerable.

Arnav (to Khushi):

“Tumne mujhe sikhaaya ki insaan ka ego uske rishton se bada nahi hota. Tum meri zindagi ka ek hissa ban chuki thi, aur maine usse khud tod diya.”

Khushi (after a pause):

“Aapne bahut dukh diye hain, Arnav ji. Lekin shayad hum dono ko ek nayi shuruaat ki zarurat hai.”

They agree to start over, not as employer and employee, but as two people willing to give each other a chance.

Their relationship grows slowly but steadily, built on mutual respect and understanding. Arnav learns to let go of his arrogance, and Khushi discovers that beneath his hard exterior lies a heart capable of immense love.

Their love story, though delayed by ego and misunderstandings, finds its way back, proving that sometimes, even broken roads can lead to beautiful destinations.

So in this twist, Khushi was already an employee of AR... unlike the show where she stumbles upon the fashion show completely unaware (Epi 1)...?

Or maybe, this is a twist after Arnv makes her model for the photoshoot... bcz Khushi ruined the original model's coat (and we got the iconic Red Saree shoot in Epi 22 smiley42)

Either way, liked this ending as well smiley9. Successful Khushi being able to prove her worth without Arnav’s help was something I always wanted to see in the show... Alas! Mrs. India track promised that but couldn't deliver smiley24

a love that does not thrive on misunderstandings, but on mutual resilience and respect. I really like this sentence. It explains a lot and is very instructive.
