My dear Deepika,

I was, entirely serendipitously, directed to this post of yours by a young friend of mine from my India Forums days, I think.from the Jodha Akbar forum. I was amused to see that you, Deepika Kaushik, have a name very close to mlne, Shyamala B. Cowsik (an anglicised distortion of Kaushik)

I wrote episode analyses of Jodha Akbar fairly regularly from its beginning in June 2013 for over a year. Then my interest flagged, and I did only occasional posts till the series was somewhat abruptly ended in mid-2015. I suppose you could see my posts in the Jodha Akbar archives. I am afraid I have never tried to access them and I am not sure how that is done, but surely a bright kid like you would be able to find that out!

If you draw a complete blank, please let me know by email at sashashyam@gmail.com. I had the texts of most of my episode analyses in a Jodha Akbar MS Word folder, and I couid email them to you.

What you wouid miss, however, wouid be the very lively exchanges on my episode (numbered) threads, with large numbers of young people chipping in. Some of those threads used to be over 20 pages long! They were much more enjoyable than the episode analyses themselves. I absolutely loved the chanced to interact with those bright young people, who all called me Shyamala Aunty, as you might also like to do. I grew to be very fond of some of them, and am still in touch with a few even after a decade and more.

So do give it a good try!

Besides Jodha Akbar, I wrote, admittedly sporadically, for some other serials, beginning with my first such attempt with Pavitra Rishta in early 2012. I gave that up fairly quickly, however. I cannot stand long winded, convoluted narratives.

Then there was Jodha Akbar's immediate successor, Chandra Nandini, which began the very day after Jodha Akbar ended. I tried my best to be enthusiastic about it, especially since my favourite Rajat Tokas, whose Akbar was splendid, was playing Chandragupta Maurya, but it just wasn't the same, and I couldn't keep it up. The series didn't succeed either.

My other serials were haphazard choices, like Chakravarti Ashoka Samrat, more out of hope than anything else. Unfortunately, in most of the cases, it was hope belied! By early 2017, I effectively abandoned the India Forums.

I still look back on those days with nostalgic pleasure, and most of all, I miss "my girls", chattering like a bunch of lively birds, so young and spirited. But then everything passes, and so did those days. I have never been back there.

I hope, however, that you find the "Khul ja, Sim, Sim!" to that magical realm, and even if you cannot join the discussions and arguments now, you enjoy reading the threads.

Warm regards.

Shyamala Aunty

Hey!
I was once trudging through the forum when I first came across one of Shyamala Aunty's posts and they blew my mind, during that time I came across this compilation of sorts--

https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/jodha-akbar/4426792/rajats-jalals-memories-via-shyamalas-pearls-links-updated-pg-1

I don't think it has all of her posts but it does have some of them. Hope it helps!
Apologies, since I only follow the Jodha Akbar forum, I can only help a little. You could type her username in the 'search topics' box and it could provide you with everything the server has throughout every forum.

Thankyou so much ma'am ! I had asked for your posts here hoping that someone out there would help me find them , but I hadn't even considered that I would be so lucky to get a reply directly from you . I was smiling while I read your reply. Ever since I started reading the analysis of every episode of Jodha Akbar , I had become a fan , not only of your observant skills but of your English as well . You drew parallas where I couldn't see any, it made me see the episodes in new light. I became more giddy with excitement because I loved Jodha Akbar and your posts about them have fed me ,because we don't have much content about them. With your posts it feels like I am watching it again but with new understanding. I have only read 50 posts of yours and I have more content of yours to read ahead , which makes me happy. I wanted to ask you a question which is totally random but to me , you are the perfect person who can answer. How do you write so beautifully? It makes me feel cozy and at home , Like a hot cup of coffee with books to read. If I could write like you , It would be so great. Please recommend me your favourite contents which made you , well "you" . Thankyou for replying to me ma'am , you made my day !

The episode analyses were the only time I ever read anything on the forum years back when I didn't wish to have a forum account... When a friend sat me down to read those wonderful words. Huge fan mam.
