I would say in reality a wife after seeing her husband spending nights with some girl shouldn’t just go with it. Which happened even before Bilal offered this position to Sadaf anyway and even before Bilal returned. No chance Ammar will be ok if Sadaf would have spent nights like that with some man. Ammar is reflection of some cheater society man who enjoy the pleasure of girl who loves him and have affair and doubt and humiliate the wife even for some hi hello with some man. It’s called playing Victim card and such men exist in society and even in some mediocre society everyone just blames women as such man will be crying and victimising himself.

TB got the deserved backlash because it glorified abuse on the fl.

the majority of criticism to smd is not so much the thappad. maybe read my above posts.

People will be bored if everything will be common like reality, industry can’t grow like that, it will just be in limits. Whereas in Bollywood such movies and all people watch as entertainment and it doesn’t mean they’re mad but rather with brain that such people live reality and face things and work on their lives in reality and when it comes to drama or movies most viewers watch for some different thing and entertainment. Thats the reason SMD still trends in India and is watched and obviously another reason is Wahaj. And I don’t think it’s justifying man cheating and abuse. Through lead character Sadaf and Bilal it’s conveyed Ammar is a usual cheater man who cheats himself and on other hand blames wife entirely when she just meets some man, such negative men exist in society who just play victim card by doing wrong activities themselves and Bilal character apart from fantasy can be even related , sometimes some person will fall for someone from one sided in true love to extent that all they wish is their loved ones happiness and in today’s world one. An relate it with some actual True rare fan of some celebrity who just wants his or her celeb to be happy and doesn’t expect anything in return. And here is drama it can definitely be shown at extra level. killer of this drama is its too much slow pace. Else story could have looked good overall.

Bilal Abdullah kind of people exist in real life(though rare) who loves someone to an extent that he doesn't want that person in his life..he just wants that person to be happy...and that's what true love is ..

In today's world, people think that staying together, dancing together, eating together is love...getting someone with all the suicidal threats is love..but NO,true love is when you want to see that person happy even when that person is not in your life. That kind of love is divine and makes you a more beautiful person..exactly the love which Meera had for Lord Krishna.

I think an important part to note is that Sadaf has changed. Although she resists, she is taking a lot more than she was shown to before. She has become somewhat of a doormat since she married Ammar. Sadly it happens to a lot of women after they get married…smart, educated, independent women. The priority becomes saving their marriage. It’s sad but reality. She’s unsure of her decision making power right now. Sadaf doesn’t have the proper support from her mom. She’s influencing her in the wrong way when she is at her most vulnerable moment.

Some of Sadaf’s mom’s behaviour is typical and happens too. They’re all for independence but things change a bit after they get married. Farzana has seen Sadaf be difficult so I can understand if she asked her to try to compromise…it could be consistent with her character. What I don’t understand is that now she knows what Ammar has done, how can she tell Sadaf to prioritize saving her marriage? What is there to save? The things she is saying is so problematic and I find that really out of character for her. The statement about how men just want to be pampered as if it’s an excuse for an affair isn’t just appalling but out of character in my opinion. This for sure will sway Sadaf because she is being emotionally abused at the moment and that can make one second guess themselves.

In terms of entertainment value,Iqtidar is better I agree..but its a total crap in terms of story..

We all criticise SMD when required...but audienceshould also understand that...if the demand of the story is that leads story will start towards the end, than no one can do anything about it...at least me as an audience couldn't have accepted the same sadaf which we saw in epi 16,17,18 as Bilal's life partner...who looked bipolar and moody back than.

sorry i go back to mehwish's performance in mann jali. she was dabang and impulsive and munh phatt like sadaf before. after marrying mikaal who was insecure like ammar, was regularly drunk and had marasim with women, mehwish too was giving her marriage a chance and was being flexible. but she still didn't come across as a doormat and you could sense her inner core was still intact. sorry but the combo of writing, direction and performance just makes sadaf look like she has had a personality transplant. atp ppl are just coming up with excuses to fill gaps rather than being shown any of this thru the story, direction or performance. that kind of nuance in execution and performance is just missing.

I don’t know, I found Tere Bin very filmy and it worked well. It was all about the leads…at least for the first half. Murtasim’s character, Murtasim and Meerab’s chemistry all helped propel it. There were a lot of illogical stuff and inconsistencies in this show too but it worked because the other stuff took center stage. It even had a ton of slow motion scenes but it was between the leads so it was entertaining to watch. It wasn’t spent on mundane moments

I think this show just needed more scenes with the leads and a quicker pace. Almost every show has lots of illogical moments and are OTT but this one gets more criticism for it

people gave billions if views to shows like kam3 which barely had leads ke scenes or an romance.. lovey dovey romance is not always what matters. mann mayal was a hit tho for 15 episodes we had no mannu-sallu scenes. shows without lovey dovey scenes in the beginning still need to get ppl invested in the cktrs and them being together. failing to do that is a failure of story telling.

I haven’t seen that other drama so I can’t comment on it. I actually haven’t seen a lot of criticism for Sadaf changing. Most people are just still mad at her for rejecting Bilal. I’ve seen comments on YouTube saying how their marriage depicts reality. I honestly don’t feel like Sadaf has had a personality transplant. I think the mom kind of did though.
