In this show,most of things which is happening doesn't make sense right from Bilal Abdullah falling for Sadaf to Sadaf getting the assignment,becoming more qualified than Ammar...but this is not a thriller that everything has to be logical...there is suspension of logic but that's not what the writers are aiming for..the writers want to show the emotions,obsession,love of the characters more than anything.

For example -there is a bollywood movie called Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi..people still debate about the fact that how wife couldn't recognize her husband when he removed his moustache..but that's not what writer aimed to show..the whole crux of the movie was to show the wife accepts her husband as himself..

What I mean is the emotions what the characters are trying to portray needs to be understood instead of looking for logic in everything.

I feel Pakistani critics and viewers take everything and each dialogue into reality. Come on some dramas aren’t such. People will be bored if everything will be common like reality, industry can’t grow like that, it will just be in limits. Whereas in Bollywood such movies and all people watch as entertainment and it doesn’t mean they’re mad but rather with brain that such people live reality and face things and work on their lives in reality and when it comes to drama or movies most viewers watch for some different thing and entertainment. Thats the reason SMD still trends in India and is watched and obviously another reason is Wahaj. And I don’t think it’s justifying man cheating and abuse. Through lead character Sadaf and Bilal it’s conveyed Ammar is a usual cheater man who cheats himself and on other hand blames wife entirely when she just meets some man, such negative men exist in society who just play victim card by doing wrong activities themselves and Bilal character apart from fantasy can be even related , sometimes some person will fall for someone from one sided in true love to extent that all they wish is their loved ones happiness and in today’s world one. An relate it with some actual True rare fan of some celebrity who just wants his or her celeb to be happy and doesn’t expect anything in return. And here is drama it can definitely be shown at extra level. killer of this drama is its too much slow pace. Else story could have looked good overall.

Plz yaar hypno...Iqtidar is a total crap in terms of story..Just because its getting views and chemistry is liked by the audience,doesn't mean its a good story.

The heroine is very strong that's the only good thing..but the hero is spineless and all her in laws are toxic and regressive...its just that masses can relate to this type of story...and since people are so love deprived in their own lives,if you give them romance,they don't care about anything else...and hail it as the "best drama" "best chemistry "

Yes but it got that backlash because they had built up this character of Murtasim to the point that so many women wanted him as a husband. He was so respectful of Meerab’s consent and to have him do that was just killing his character. There’s no coming back from that. I don’t think it was the MR itself that people objected to because it unfortunately happens but it’s having a positive character commit such a hideous act. Here the negative behaviour is done by a negative character.

More than backlash, people didn’t want them to ruin Murtasim. It’s crazy to think the amount of tweets that got! Tere Bin craze was on some other level.

my point was smd backlash is small compared to what tb got for e46. even pemra gave a notice. the only diff is tb got a lot of love too along with the backlash, but smd doesn't have that.

But sometimes I feel like the backlash is justified because of lack of vision in terms of direction and production house...they are just dragging this unnecessarily.

Maybe unpopular opinion but I don’t find it to be that terrible. I wouldn’t be watching it otherwise. I’m actually invested in the story

tv and film are different mediums. in a film, you do not need so much detailing and can gloss over many things coz run time is short. in a tv series, the detailing is very necessary. in itv,it might be different, but the failure of both smd and ishq hua shows, that for ptv viewers, too much filmy-ness is not acceptable on tv.

If SMD was a telefilm or something,all the flaws could have been ignored but since its a drama which is overstretched and you have to wait for IDK how many episodes for the leads love story to start,people would just get impatient and nitpick on every single details.

for me crap show is not just about story. it is the overall product, its entertainment value. iqtidar doesn't have good writing but it is entertaining and pacey. mehru is also 10 times better fl than sadaf. smd main bhi chemistry or entertainment hoti toh no one will call it a bad product. sorry but i have never seen worse direction, treatment and pace in a big budget drama than smd. and to have the audacity to sell a maya-led ensemble drama on wahaj's name and fake advertising that it's his cktr's story we will be getting is an unforgivable scam.
