I thought I misheard. I rewinded and watched that part like 3 times to be sure I heard right. Even then I didn't believe it until I saw the numbers on the plane itself.

Finally watched the episode and I have mixed sentiments. On one hand, I'm glad to see the show again with new epis and a return, but on the other hand it felt too overdone. I'll explain below.

First the good - they kept the basic intent of CID intact. Simpler cases that everyone can solve, but with a touch of emotions on the officers' side and some bad acting from the extras (sorry but not sorry ). The case had it's usual loopholes, but apart from that they kept it mostly intact. I like that the characters have been developed further since 2018 - they didn't just continue with the usual antics of Pankaj and the usual banter between Dr. Salunkhe and ACP. They changed it up as if these characters had grown in 6 years and changed.

The bad - I don't get the whole Shreya-Daya-Abhijeet saga and I don't understand why they had to do this stupidity. I'm sorry but for what it's worth, they could have continued the story from 2018 without this stupid Shreya dying, a few months later, Shreya alive and Abhijeet out of jail bit. It was totally unnecessary. Not acknowledging Freddy at all was also another downer for me. Arre baba he should have gotten at least a mention as Freddy not just as Dinesh Phadnis. The bureau, the action, and the climax all felt too filmy for me. I mean the bureau didn't have that nice, homely but office feeling it had before. Most of the action was done in slow-mo which was not needed. And the climax with Daya bending the gun was totally unnecessary.

Overall, my verdict is 50-50. I'm so happy that CID is back and that they didn't make a mockery of it, but it doesn't feel the same and I'm missing that familiarness of it from pre-2014.

Completely agreed with. Abhi-daya-shreya plot was very unnecessary to add. Let's see how it turns after some episodes.

Sachin will be returning soon. His episodes are not shot yet because he was not there when the show went off air.so they will be showing him reentering the team after a few days.

Yes I am sure. Hrishikesh Pandey aka Sachin has confirmed it somewhere.
