Bilal's backstory was there so SADAF will have a reason to think Bilal is a bad guy despite his many ahsaan and that Humsha can weaponize to poison SADAF's mind against Bilal. Bilal's backstory, as meagre as it was, was intended to further SADAF's story. It was not there to show Bilal's journey. Bilal does and says nothing if it doesn't revolve around Sadaf - he has no independent tracks of his own.

Even Zaid was better. At least he grew a spine and left his dad at the end. Bilal Abdullah has no purpose in the story except being Sadaf's one sided lover.

I can already predict how the story would progress for Bilal. He would keep coming back to Pakistan for same repetitive agony scenes with Humsha every week. In the meantime Sadaf would realise her mistake and when she finally confesses her love, the leads would unite. End of story.

Just saw SH review and couldn't stop myself from writing here.

Hassan saying "worst show ever to exist in pak TV industry " was literally out of frustration more than factssmiley36There are tons of regressive dramas out there...

But I can understand his frustration as a viewer because when a viewer is forced to watch unnecessary scenes and characters with painfully slow pace than this kind of reaction totally makes sense. I also agree with him that a simple thing has been said in a very OTT way and overphilosophized dialogues.

He also indirectly took a dig on Haseeb who commented about views on instagram...I totally agree with this...why do the crew members act like they have created some masterpiece? Even if it is,than why are they spending so much track on sadaf amaar track? This kind of attitude brings nothing except backlash. Haseeb should focus on his work rather than fighting with fans in insta.. Right now even cast likes the review videos, which speaks a lot about how they were ready for all the backlash.

Take out the marketing, the ps, the power walks, the hero entry, the filler scenes with no lines (bilal ka khambe se latakna, moping by poolside, crying over piano, fondling the lamp, stumbling on stairs with misplaced shayari voiceover). Now imagine a Mikaal or Mohib in place of Wahaj as bilal. Everything else remains the same: the scenes. the dialogues. the screentime. the cktr dynamics. Now tell me do you think this is a Bilal-centric story or told from his pov. Strip SMD of all the fake facade to sell this as Wahaj ka drama and just focus on the story being told, you will see that Bilal and Ammar are equal footing characters. They are literally option A and option B for Sadaf. The show has from the start set up contrasts between Ammar and Bilal. Contrast or mirroring hamesha equal characters ke beech main hoti hai, not between main lead and side character.

If the writing does not support it as a ML-centric story, yeh surface level, short cut dikhawe will not turn it into one either. At the end, only audience feels cheated keh unko choona diya gaya.

I have seen Maya's previous projects...I am sure her character will have an arc before BA-Sadaf reunites....otherwise she wouldn't have signed the project not even for friendly favours..at the end of the day,she is among A-listers no matter how much her performance was bad in recent episodes.

It is clearly only Sadaf's story now . It's her, who would be finally listening to her heart at the end.

The disappointment is high because of the names attached, the money invested and how anticipated it was. If only writing was bad, characters had nologiv, and themes were regressive toh backlash phir bhi aata but without the worst drama tag. The poor direction, slow pace, slo-mo dialogue delivery, lack of any entertainment and relief for audiences, OTT acting, dull lifeless frames all just add to it. If writing was bad but it was entertaining and facts paced toh log enjoy toh karsakte the. Yahan serious lack of enjoyment hai. Ek banda jisko dekh kar phir bhi relief milta hai got like 3 minutes of ss in 4 episodes. Frustration toh hogi.

Yeah I agree..."worst drama tag" ka main reason is lack of entertainment totally..I have been saying the same thing...the present track is mainly the base of the story and not the actual story IMO...but the way they have been shown is totally depressing and frustrating. People watch shows for entertainment not to get depressed. If it was regressive yet entertaining (like TB was) the show wouldn't have got so much backlash.

I have seen haseeb and maya's recent IG comments.

Where Haseeb says "Give my salam to Sadaf..I hope Sadaf listens to her heart now"

And maya says "woh abhi apne dil ki sunegi"..I think it will start from breaking the marriage
