Today, if I enter a room, people will not know me because I have many followers, they will know me because I am an actor. Well, we agree with Anita Hassanandani who is active in films and television shows over two decades now. She is remembered for films like Krishna Cottage opposite to Sohail Khan, Koi Aap Sa opposite to Aftab Shivdasani . Anita's female lead stint as Anjali in Kkavyanjali opposite to Eijaz Khan is still remembered today and her portrayal of iconic Shagun Arora as Karan Patel's first wife in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fetched her immense name and fame. Notedly, she has been credited as fashion trendsetter on social media platforms for this unique role as well.

Oh yeah...Shagun Arora was a fashion queen. Anita lived the role. Urvashi as Komolika and Anita as Shagun are perhaps the two most iconic TV fashion trendsetters. While Komolika is dependent on heavy and unconventional ornaments and alluring background music to go with, Shagun stands tall just the way she is...with her fashion sense and minimalistic modern approach...truly a fashion icon...

Partially don't agree with Anita here. Yes, for actors/actresses, social media fame and success is very temporary. Although, there were reported instances where actors (actresses particularly) were selected for tv & web projects based on social media followers but none of them worked so the makers learnt their lesson. Big projects are not whimsical, they do proper research and auditions for casting. But there is another side to it. Not all actors get work all the time. This is a highly competitive field with high risk to reward ratio. Actors now through social media can act as influencers and monetize the media by sharing glimpses of their lives. At least it helps to keep their kitchen running.
