Re Kabira - MG OS
PT 1
There she was, back home. In the country she had left at 18 to pursue higher education. She crossed the seas and never looked back, until she did.
Geet Handa was independent from a young age. She was the middle child but oldest daughter. She always searched to figure out life in her own way, walk on paths she had created and construct a life she had wanted. It wasn't easy.
Geet's father had fiercely opposed sending her abroad but Geet had already known that and secured a scholarship. With a scholarship in hand, even Geet's father knew that he could not stop his daughter. He knew that he would rarely see his daughter again the moment she flapped her wings, ready to fly. To explore the world and herself but a part in him hoped that she would come back someday. Hoping that she would fly back home after seeing the world.
And here she was, her father's wish being true, well almost.
Geet was home in celebration of her sister's wedding. Single herself she still felt joy seeing her sister thread into matrimony. Geet was home for a whole month and in that month she hoped to fill the craving of home she had suddenly felt when her mother told her that her sister might be getting married in this very year.
Geet decided to walk around in the neighborhood after putting her luggage in her old room, now a guest bedroom. While walking she saw a few kids playing in the streets and bumped into someone.
Who was he? Her old classmate. She hadn't seen him since high school, well she hadn't seen anyone since then as she had immediately left after graduation. She stared into his eyes and remembered that she used crush on this classmate of hers. She dropped her gaze and said sorry and hurriedly left before he could say anything.
Geet immediately walked back home and decided to help with the wedding preparations. The wedding, although 3 weeks away, still required lots to be done.
Time passed rather quickly in all the business of the preparations.
After 3 weeks of preparations and being back home, Geet realized that the ache in her heart still hadn't gone away. She still craved home but even home didn't quite feel the same.
It was finally the day of the wedding, Geet's day started busy and ended busy. In the preparations she once again bumped into someone, oh into the very same person again too! This time she could not escape him and he had her in his arms, stopping her from falling.
He made casual conversation with her and Geet suddenly remembered why she had liked him. Her heart skipped a beat and Geet was in an instant back to the 18 year old she was when she liked this man before her.
