Totally agreed 💯
The problem with this serial summed up…
I know why some of it happens which is why this medium is female lead heavy… Female lead is the flag bearer of tradition but what that tradition is no one knows or cares but just that she is at the centre of every action cos female audience is feeling some vicarious pleasure seeing the female lead characters do things they know they will never do in their lives
Females have an agency in matters that has no meaning and there is flagellation of the male character but with no intention to actually shine a light on patriarchy.
@bold: THIS so much.....and that is why I find it so tiresome to read reactionary essays on so called "women empowerment" happening just cuz FL ne 2-4 lines bol di ML ko jhaadne ke liye....lol bhai kaunsi ACTUAL patriarchy tackle ho rahi hai ITV pe? Sirf dialoguebaazi chal rahi hai but people are assigning labels to it casually for the sake of it without realizing that the very lack of agency being shown for FL characters anyways makes this whole "empowerment" topic moot.
This pretense about how modern, educated women have NO agency in their relationships at all but still somehow are oh so "empowered" simply cuz they shout at the ML is beyond hilarious to me
Both Arshi and Jhanak take turns pretending like they have no say in what is happening around them....Arshi is the biggest joke obviously but even Jhanak acting like she has no say in how random men show up to start playing benefactors to her and she has no choice but sar jhuka ke accepting any help, kisi ke bhi ghar pe jaake rehna
.....people think this is empowerment where women are being shown having no basic comprehension of personal dignity or integrity? This is strength? LOL ML ko gaaliyaan dene se female strength nahin ban jaayegi
Leena is forcibly trying to portray a world where walking away from a bad relationship is not an option and FL is supposedly justified and right in keeping everyone hanging in incomplete rishte
