Saturday -

Shubhajit- tere chehre mein woh jadoo hai. Fantastic performance. So far he seems consistent. Compared to last week, I think he is beginning to get more confident, which is a good thing. Hoping he goes far.

Chaitanya - Kambakht Ishq. What a surprise. Last week was the first time I saw him perform, and the song was so different. I couldn’t have in my wildest dreams thought he’d sing this kind of a song, forget doing a good job. He made the song his own. I didn’t necessarily enjoy it, but if I only talk about his singing, it was fab.

Manasi- dum maro dum. For me it was an okay okay performance. It was in no way a poor performance, but it was a style that Manasi is comfortable with and she’s had better performances. So judging by her own performances this wasn’t her best.

Mayuri - do lafzon ki- she’s really growing on me. She’s definitely one of the better singers. Listening to her makes me feel like I’m listening to someone with tons of experience. I have a gut feeling that she won’t win (the best seldom wins) but I really hope she gets a break in playback singing (if that’s what she wants). She’s so ready to record in a professional studio. I’d be happy if she wins.

Ranjini - jaane woh kaise log/aap jaisa koi/laila oh laila- her first song was at the request of judges and not for scoring but if u must talk about it it sounded more like a nursery rhyme to me. If we talk of her performances, I think I was let down in the first one, second was ok. I do think she has a lot of potential, and she needs to explore different genres. This year we have a lot of people who’s comfort zone is similar to hers, and of them all, I think she is someone that can easily sing other genres just as well.

Ragini - chura liya hai - she sounded like a small child, which she is. But this song needs a more mature and sultry voice. I think the song selection was wrong for her. It’s safe to say it was the weakest performance of the week, I’m surprised that she wasn’t in the bottom 3.

Jyotiprakash - hum tumhe chahte hain aise/ aakhir tumhe aana hai - he was breathless a lot of times. He had two lovely songs, and I did enjoy it. But to be fair he did go off tune and had unnecessary pauses. His second song was a tad better.

Vishwaroop - do pyaar karne wale/ Jo tumko ho pasand - was disappointing. In the first song his enunciation wasn’t clear at all. He sounded fine, but if the words aren’t clear, it’s a fail for me. Even in the second one there was something missing. I hope he finds his rhythm because he’s capable of being a finalist.

Sunday

Ritika - bindiya chamkegi/leke pehla pehla pyaar - She did fine. Her first song was good but it couldn’t hold my interest until the second song. So while she sounded fine, she was missing something. Also, her voice texture isn’t something I quite like.

Priyangshu- Naina - I absolutely love this song. He started off very well, but then somewhere I think it dipped. I am surprised at everyone’s reaction to his song - the tears, standing ovation. I’d like to think it’s such an emotional song and that’s why the tears. It wasn’t a bad performance, but he faltered.

Srijan - roop Tera mastana - average. He got everyone grooving, but it’s hard not to on such a popular and peppy number. I think he was so carried away and that affected his singing. Overall singing wise I’d say I wasn’t impressed.

Myscmme- yeh dil sun raha hai - easily the best performance of the day, maybe even the week. Every note was perfect and more importantly while she was singing, I could literally visualize Nana Patekar, Seema Biswas and Manisha Koirala. And to me that says a lot. Another potential winner for me.

Vastav- kadi te has bol de - he had me singing along and grooving. Literally set the atmosphere right. I was so enjoying his performance that I didn’t notice if his singing was good or bad. I am not easy to please when it comes to music and if he had me enjoying, I’m going to say he was good. I don’t see him going very far ahead, but he could have a good career if he concentrated on live shows.

Sneha - yeh dil tum bin - lovely song. I think her song selection is great, like I said last week. She knows which sings will suit her voice. She sang fine, but I didn’t like the way she ended and that for me ruined the performance. Also, all her songs sound exactly the same. I don’t get the hype around her. I get it that’s she Shankar Shambus grand daughter and that she’s talented, but not every performance is a wow performance.

Ipsit - Kesariya - there’s a reason he was eliminated today. Clearly one of the weakest. This performance was average at best. I haven’t heard him before but basis this performance he truly did deserve to leave.

Anirudh - Baahon ke darmiyan- as the judges rightly pointed out you could hear the effort he put into his singing and his diction isn’t great. But his voice is fantastic. Even in a not so good performance you could tell his voice quality and his grasp on his surs is excellent. Diction will continue to be a problem (can’t have perfect diction in a few months), but I hope he makes it big as a singer at least down south, though they have way too many singers and it’s hard for new talent to get a break. I really like how earnest he is.

Don’t much much time to go into detail but my statement that the girls are better stands! They all blow all of the boys out of the water! Sneha and Mayuri and Mysme are my faves but Rajini is great as well.

I didn’t like the comment that they had Ritika make about the different contestants which sounded mean spirited, they were avoiding that for the last few seasons in lieu of the love stories between the contestants but ugh what a turn off

Haven’t followed show properly but saw some clips in instragram and I am just wondering why are they making like big boss like kon fake hai kisme kitba attitude hai?
