I am actually glad that Ani is “thinking” of his role in this whole situation
Moral dilemmas are expressed differently by different people. What you see emerging is the expression of Ani’s moral dilemma and this has nothing to do with who Arshi is or not. It is about who Ani is
To me this story hasn’t been about Arshi as a third angle but the conflict about the personality traits of Ani and Jhanak that stops them from coming together and how they resolve it.
Like the tumour track was the point Ani resolved how important his love for J was that he was ready to put all behind and separate from Arshi. If you all remember when he came back dejected and meaning to tell Arshi but he just doesn’t have the words to articulate saying usko bura lagega. Ofc the situation moved to a different track etc but it was the awakening of that dilemma which is being expressed now especially since Jhanak is in a stage where she is not ready to be with him in any form or shape.
BUT the point I am making is these two Jhanak and Ani are basically good natured individuals. Like Jhanak who expresses her moral dilemma from the lens of society ( she is not obligated to be in a relationship with Ani) and Ani is now expressing his moral dilemma in the form of taking responsibility for a relationship ( in Leenaverse it is a situation ship or a Shaadi which wasn’t completed or whatever) but primarily becos Ani and Arshi have a past and Ani views this bond just as seriously as any other bond He isn’t trifling with Arshi’s affection for him. It’s another matter Arshi and him are not close anymore but it’s good to remember that there is no rule in the book that says that only the perfect individuals come together in life.
What I find interesting ( I don’t like the way it is narrated though) is Ani’s latent understanding of what the entire situation of falling in love with Jhanak and him maintaining that if Arshi isn’t happy she can go.. Ofc she could go but when it comes to saying Get out of please leave, woh ho nahin pa raha hain. This is an interesting ideation but great ideas lose focus on the scripting table. Anyways.
one of the stark differences between Ani and Jhanak is this and this largely because of how they came to love each other and I have written about this in the past. One ( Jhanak) fell in love with all the might that love could offer as for her there was only one thing for her to consider…But Ani didn’t fall in love with Jhanak until much much later or let me say his acceptance of the love didn’t come in until much later therefore the moral dilemma hits him late
I feel vindicated kinda cos I have been waiting for this to happen in this story for a while now and I am happy it’s reached that stage however stupidly narrated….Dialogue writers of Jhanak are its weakest link
Asmi. I light a diya in your hope ki imarat.& I maintain Ani is Leena’s favourite character
Krushal will rock this stage as also Hiba; hopefully they scripting tightens and dialogues improve.
I haven’t watched today’s episode but just tagging a few for discussions; those I haven’t tagged also please feel free to join in to comment to agree disagree whatever
It’s unfortunate that an interestingv idea isn’t translating well that we are left bashing characters
