I’m not sure how many of you have been to raves or DJ parties in the west, but sometimes the gora DJs throw in Bollywood tracks, remixing them in between other beats. One track that they love is Jimmy Jimmy Aaja for some reason. I don’t know who first remixed it, but the crowd just dances to the tune, not caring about Mithoon or Disco Dancer. They most probably don’t even know Mithoon. It’s just caught the DJs’ attention and they remix it a lot now. If only Mithoon had a super dedicated fanbase to claim it as some sort of tribute to him!
That only shows how much Indian filmmusic/songs get popular (also among those not familiar with the Indian filmindustries)...it's fair to get this trend as since decades Indian composers did this with Western popular music
I still remember how surprised (and happy) I was when I heard the Dil Se tunes in a big US movie... (Chaiyya Chaiyya in Inside Man)

Seriously you are comparing the popularity of SRK globally with that of Mithun( no disrespect to Mithun meant here, just plain fact)....Dua Lipa knows SRK.....SRK actually taught some of his popular moves in jest......I don't understand why SRK is being dismissed as some other chota mota actor....because he is not....and chances are that most celebrities know of him....

Btw, you're 100% correct. SRK has a bigger global image. It's laughable that SRK is being discredited as a nobody on this thread, when he is literally the "face of Bollywood" for people worldwide, on par with Big B.
Dua's team must've introduced her to this viral song/mashup. Dua exactly knew what she was doing.

The song belongs to the singer and, more importantly, the DJ who did this remix. What does SRK have to do with any of this? Lol
The song is created by a composer, writer and singer, not just the singer

Do you really expect people not to associate SRK with this song?? How’s that even possible given people know the song as SRK song?? It’s very unfortunate singers aren’t given their due at all in India but to say “what does “woh lad ki Jo” has to do with SRK and give credit to the DJ who mixed the songs” in the same sentence is pure delusions. (No disrespect intended here)
Almost everyone knows this song because of SRK because he brought the song to life for Bollywood movie goers he deserves every bit of the credit he’s getting and more. Again I feel for the singer but that’s not SRK’s fault he’s more popular and the face of this particular song. No one outside India would even know the voice behind the song.
A musician should be aware of other peoples creation, especially musical creations and Dua Lipa is a musician, isn't she ? Did she, even for a moment, think that SRK composed, wrote and sang that song ? Yes SRK is famous but in all probability she knew SRK was the actor and not a composer, writer or singer yet she chose not to mention creators of the song which was not hers. It is not quite different from what some of the bollywood composers do but they are pilloried for that aren't they ?
