Jhanak Maharani has only two modes - either boasting about how she knows Ani loves her but still she handed him off to pyari didi…or mode two which is about flipping to claim that Ani gave her dhoka, is two timer cheater blah blah. Lol neither of these two modes involve any test from her….the test is always Ani’s that his love is never valued or respected and always put in a position of being tossed around like an inanimate object with no feelings of his own 🤷‍♀️

Jhanak relentlessly attacks Ani’s dignity and integrity in order to retort back to Arshi. So where in all this are you expecting her to pass any test? 😂😂….Ani is just being set up to be humiliated and bashed again that despite his fierce stance of not backing down no matter how many people try to keep him away from J, he will again be judged the most by that very Jhanak who has anyways been telling him to go be with Arshi 🤷‍♀️😂

AY… like I say it’s not about what will happen… I don’t deal much in future predictions… I deal in the setting up of scenarios and ofc it can topple based on how the writer chooses to dismantle it and set up a new path - If Leena chooses to take it along expected lines I know it wouldn’t surprise us as she has toyed with character traits. My reading has more to do with how a writer can set up a contrarian path.

You may ask how can that path be set up based on what has been shown so far? It might seem difficult but if I was a writer I would see the events thus far not necessarily as having only one set of interpretation.

For all of us we see Ani’s indecisiveness ( not necessarily now but in how we got here) we talk about it as an expedient way to bash Ani’s character tto make others shine etc but I see one more interpretation - Ani’s tendency to give a long rope to others plays a detrimental role in his life. It doesn’t always pay to be good especially in the face of such hostility. It will be to your detriment and unfortunately Ani will see that.

Coming to Jhanak
Arrogance - the word was used by BBG in the context of Jhanak’ when they first each other when they knew nothing about each other. It was a fleeting scene; Sant baba says to Jhanak, apna nritya inhe dilkhayo and BBG says no I don’t want to see ( perhaps he wasn’t in the frame of mind) Jhanak almost reading at her rejection quickly says don’t force him to watch. BBG quickly retorts don’t be arrogant (don’t assume that I was thinking of you to reject you as my reasons could have nothing to do with you) I found that a very strange placement of the scene but an accurate description of a character trait by someone who has no experience of your behaviour- like yeh blind khel Gaye)

All of us can see Jhanak’s pride prejudice and her throw attitude to the one who shows her the most love she has seen in her life ofc apart from her adoptive mother. She lost her mother but that was fate but she was offered a companion in the form of Ani with whom she has built a strange bond of understanding and kinship which allows her even to cast away that thinking it is always there and hers for the asking, yet circumstances are set up to take it away ( that which you thought was yours for the asking) It’s like fate is throwing her prejudice and pride back in her face.

I M not hopeful that a contrarian path will occur.. I am just stating a contrarian interpretation of the events thus far.

It’s about the potential in a story not necessarily in the fulfilment of it.

Bold 1- I absolutely agree with you on this. A good example of this is his tendency to let members of family and even Arshi/Shristi to speak ill about Jhanak despite encountering numerous instances which prove they are not worth the patience and chance he hands them. We can clearly see how this has been simmering underneath the surface for Jhanak who is now taking the opportunity to rebuke him. In the case of Arshi where he still naively believes (rather ignores in my opinion) that she still has some goodness in her despite everything that has happened has now culminated in a point where he has been assaulted by the very person, he gave leeway to without his consent or conscious.

Bold 2- To me, it always came across as more of her defense mechanism acting up to prevent any chances of her name or her mother's name being besmirched again rather than her pride and prejudice. But then again, I find it a toxic loop if I consider your POV where fate snatching away what was her pushes her into a more defensive mode of being rude and arrogant (which imo comes across a being prideful) and the cycle continues on.

If I were Leena, I would show the contrary using parallels from Track 1 to emphasize how things are different from before.

Anusha… absolutely right - defence mechanism is what drives it..which the narrative clearly outlined especially post intimacy. Unfortunately the narrative in the urge to prop up a FL who will value propriety of actions over everything else has caused me to push the arrogance theme..

It’s like you take things for granted ( like Jhanak’) or you take too long to forge a path ( like Ani)

Bold - It feels oxymoronic how J's action of taking things for granted doesn't seem to have any basis at any point in time prior to Mumbai. Even this, I cannot fathom the reasoning behind her actions. How can you take things for granted if you are very cautious to not be tarnished again in your Honor and name?

Else why show Jhanak as talking about her favour to Arshi on the one hand and then also insist she wants peace for the family 😂😂

There is no reasoning behind her actions cos the writer doesn’t want to outright say that the FL will choose herself or love… I don’t see any other reason for this duality. She is passive aggressive on the sacrifice bit 😂😂😂 a first for a FL. Tyaag karna hain aur ehsaan jatana bhi hain

Let me try answering this the way I understand

It’s possible Leena pursues duality purposely as it allows her to quickly change track but at another level having contrarian perspectives isn’t exactly a rare thing in people. Ani was shown conflicted in love for the longest time and somehow it worked for me in the narrative cos when you are in a committed relationship, the mental urge to fight any deviation is huge, Ani telling himself his actions for Jhanak was borne out of responsibility while falling deeper and deeper in a way that he hasn’t been able to come out of it and now doesn’t want to either. Yet his nature of being earnest doesn’t let him just become a guy who rides roughshod of the feelings of people he has been associated with. He can’t bring himself to tell Arshi GTH OR I DONT LOVE YOU. ANYMORE

he is thinking there’s a level they won’t stoop to and yet they do… He will become aware when it’s too late. If there’s irony in this you could say the dealing in a path where he did not take decisions cost him. This doesn’t mean he is responsible for the actions of others . It’s just that life can only be lived forwards but understood backwards Hindsight is an exact science.

I can get Ani's duality here due to circumstances, but J have contrarian thoughts when her purpose is only one thing lends itself more to Irony for me than duality.
