Sgp worked due to suhana n her relationship with here in laws..Ragini as Suhana was the main character along with badi maa and show worked due to its natural n positive relationships.Jay as Ishaan hardly mattered in that show that's why shp 2 badly flopped when they showed suhaana dead n ishaan moving on with another girl which ruined the essence of sgp n ishaan suhaana characters..
