Mat Bhool Are Insaan.
Great song by Rafi
Film. Mastana (1954)
This song emerged as the top Hindi Film song ever as voted by a panel of elite musicians on Outlook I believe. Though it’s hard for me to pick a favorite Rafi song (there are way too many & he’s my favorite & I keep discovering ‘new’ ones that immediately make it to my favourites list), I agree Mann re would have a permanent place on my top favorites. The music by Roshan in Raag Yaman is stellar and the lyrics by Sahir nail the truth like only he can do.Originally posted by: surajhere

Koi na sang mare and the way Rafi sings it alone deserves all the awards imo.

# 1 Rafi Centenary Countdown
As a countdown to Rafi saab's centenary, I'll be posting a song a day here. Mostly solos, but also some rarer duets (not the popular ones!)
Everyone else is welcome to join in!
Mehbooba teri tasveer
Film: Ishq par zor nahi (1970)
Music: S.D. Burman
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi

I actually listened to this song carefully and began loving it only recently but I must have been aware of its existence for a long time. I was obsessed with another song from this movie, Ye dil deewana hai, a duet with Lata and overlooked this one. But I've been creating a playlist of Rafi's rare tracks on Spotify and came across this one, I also think Sanjeev Ramabhadran (an ardent Rafi fan) sang this one in his Rafi 40 day tribute a few years ago so it must have stayed at the back of my mind. Then I watched Javed Ali perform this in his Rafi tribute and was struck by how beautiful & complex the tune is. The genius of Burmanda is evident and how wonderfully Rafi sings this! The 'hmmm' part! I die!
Note: The "kahin dekha na suna ho" part in the antara sounds remarkably like the tune of 'Teri Bindiya re's' antara (Burmanda after all!).
It's well-known Burmanda would select the singer according to the requirement of the song. He did not care who was supposed to be the 'voice of the hero' or consistency, he cared about getting the right person for the song. Hence why we have Mannada and Rafi playing back for Ashok Kumar in Meri Soorat teri ankhein, Kishore Kumar and Rafi for Dev Anand in Guide & Teen Deviyaan, Kishore, Rafi & Manhar Udhas for Amitabh in Abhimaan and so on.
This song just proves why Burmanda had the right instincts, because I cannot imagine anyone else singing it.
I liked this song penned by G.s.Rawal it's so touchy & rare from Rafi Saab I thought it from 1943 Abroo but I am wrong it's 1968 Abroo
Film : Aabroo

meri umeed ke tare meri kismat mere bhai mere bhai
tadap rahi hai mohabbat meri tumhare liye
ke bepanah thi ulfat meri tumhare liye
sunega kaun mera gam kise sunayega
bina tumhare lahu kiska josh khayega
kisi ka dard jo le wo jigar nahi milta
ke har shai milti hai bhai magar nahi milta
bhai magar nahi milta meri baaho ke sahaare
meri himmat mere bhai mere bhai
tumhe kaleje lagane ye baahe tarsegi
chalegi thandi hawaaye to aahe barsegi
chaman udaas rahega bahaar royegi
tumhe na paake khushi bekraar royegi

naseeb itna bura ho kabhi khuda na kare
kabhi khuda na kare meri jaan se mujhe pyaare

Above song if pictures on Dev Saab or Dillagi Fame Sanjay khan ( Rafi song Tauba ye nazare fame, Ritik Roshan's X sasur..Handsome hunk Sanjay khan ) could be better than Bishwajeet
Zindagi tu jhoom le zara is a great song. I think SDB gets overlooked a lot as a music director compared to his more famous son. He's brilliant and is largely responsible for the way Rafi moulded and trained his voice from the late 50s starting with Pyaasa. Biswajit has gone on record stating that his Hindi film career was successful only because he had Rafi singing for him.
