No you aren't given a choice. We try our best to save both but agar choice hi karni hai then mother>baby always.

Every major operation doctor can't give 100% guarantee of saving patients cause nobody knows what happens in future. That's why they make these consent form and make it sign before the operation. My mom operation was not a very critical one but still has some difficulty and in every surgical oepratipn blood loss happens which makes it difficult for doctors. So even if the operation look easy but when large blood loss happens in operation theater then it the operation gets critical. That's why nobody commits of saving patient and just make the guardian sign these consent form to make sure any legal issues won't happen. This is what I get when I signed consent form.

Yes doctor does try their best in every case but not every case are same. So consent form are important in doctor profession.

An extremely unpopular opinion: IF it was a life and death situation ( like it was today) and Ruhi knew that she is unlikely to need that injection for next two months, she would have also probably made the same choice, after a bit of hesitation (like the other couple did).
