When he came back from Mumbai after J’s operation, he was listless and he couldn’t find the words to confess to Arshi and that to my mind was in character with Ani who is basically a soft hearted person… he isn’t savage mode intrinsically… so I didn’t think it odd for him to capitulate when he was being bombarded from all sides.
But post HA, his demeanour was different as if he had found deep clarity and refused being taken for a fool by Arshi so this flip can’t be compared to the older one.

Yeah, I'm not getting the vibe that this is a plan. He was being shown very weak and vulnerable at Nutan's place too with how he was asking if he could come see her and he looked more dejected after she said no....he looks lost and confused from all sides right now.

That scene ended on him having a disheartened look on his face so that's the justification they are likely going for that he is feeling very alone and broken so that's why kuch bhi bol raha hai.....even the way he mouthed those lines to Arshi was in a very lifeless manner....he said he's begging her to stay but he didn't actually hold her hand and beg like you would actually beg. He only stopped her from leaving by holding her hand and immediately dropped it.

Basically he's in a very messed up headspace right now which can possibly be taken advantage of by Arshi/Srishti for whatever plan they have. Baaki I doubt he's thinking rationally on any level about what he's saying and doing. As you said, he's a soft-hearted person....lol this is where they use his soft side to weaken him and show him getting cowed down by the evil gang from time to time.

Ani seemed complete lost mentally that he asked Arshi to stay back. He seemed completely checked out. (Definitely felt that Krushal is unenthusiastic from the way the track/story is being executed). Idk how this baby trap track will transpire but, as a viewer, kinda felt taxing to watch the episode for now.

Arshit-Shristi scenes took up 66% of the episode with baby trap track. Jhanak-daddy scenes repeating the same lines from yesterday. Vinayak-Shristi scenes🥱 .

Yes, I noticed in the clips too that Ani came across as mentally checked out, out of his senses in many ways. And they conveniently just show him ill or having a fever every few days but no one really takes care of him and he just keeps unraveling or scrambling around saying or doing whatever.

Ever since they've revealed Srishti's disgusting back story, the plot has become even more focused on just showing Mukherjee family scenes. Ani is in static mode more or less again....lol just a day back they were showing him vowing to unmask BBG as Jhanak's father and in one day makers again flipped him and made him forget that....he has lost the zeal to get justice for Jhanak too.

LOL writers only forget Runak related things....all other things they never forget and just keep trying to make illegal things valid in the story

Ani will remain in this dejected state until he learns about Jhanak being alive I guess.

@bold: You're just talking about the initial scene where he had the convo with Jhanak in his room.....at that time, yes he was claiming to have a neutral stance and asking Jhanak to fight for her truth if she is innocent......but quickly after that they DID show him suspecting Jhanak and the way he went to the police station to DEMAND punishment even if the culprit is Jhanak....he didn't bother doing anything to get Jhanak released. Minu did the leg work of finding the video evidence to exonerate Jhanak and only THEN they showed Ani turning to look at Jhanak with a monologue in his head apologizing for doubting her.

So it was very clear that he didn't have a neutral stance and did indeed doubt her. No matter how much justice he wanted for Arshi, the fact that they showed him thinking Jhanak was capable of doing something like that simply over Srishti's claims and the police arresting her....that was not justifiable in my eyes and remains the start of the writing downfall in the show.

Now coming to the present situation.....yes, it will be even more unjustifiable cuz in the burning track he was still shown confused about his feelings, had a level of uncertainty about Jhanak's feelings for him as well.....so in that situation going back to Arshi we can get. But to now flip him after showing him getting clarity and announcing his clarity so openly will be a bigger blow.

That said, I used the burning track example cuz I can see the similar pattern. As sanfan also noted, they weaken Ani whenever they want to lay the basis for a new track. They did that in burning track also to suddenly show him doubting Jhanak so that they could justify Jhanak leaving for Mumbai. So they can do the same now also to show Ani falling weak after being beaten down from all sides and trying to hold on to Arshi for some reason again.

Ofcourse it's super bizarre that he is looking for companionship from the same person who abandoned him to die and he couldn't even tolerate being in her presence since so many days....now suddenly cuz he's feeling hopeless about Jhanak, he will BEG for Arshi's company? lol yeah it's very bizarre...but is it out of Leena's realm to show this? Not really....she doesn't care about maintaining Ani's integrity.....she will do anything to lay out a track where Arshi gets to bray about her POV.

I can completely understand your pov for Aag track.... But from what I saw, before the police station scene, there was a scene with Appu, where she was begging him to help Jhanak, and he got emotional and THEN went and said ki even if jhanak is the culprit she needs to be punished.

In all this, I felt he was neutral AND helpless, and what he was pushing through desperately was his commitment for Arshi's justice and cares for noone else. Not even Jhanak at that point because a terrible crime has occurred... Like if in Arshi's place, appu di or chhoton were there and jhanak was blamed he would've reacted the same... Taking responsibility towards his family...

I feel he was duty bound to protect Arshi and being NEUTRAL towards Jhanak because if it was a stranger instead of Jhanak he would've been the same and at that point Jhanak forcefully made herself a stranger to him and forced him to accept that there's nothing left between us... Not even good will...

She never suported him while he tried to show good will, but he still pushed through because of his wish to see her settled and respected, but during that time, he was broken by her words and forced himself to accept that she's a stranger, hence, his actions....

But now, I can't imagine how they'll EVER BE ABLE TO JUSTIFY HIM if he's not spouting all this with some specific reason...

All this said and done I can also believe what you're saying is true and if really Leena resorts to character Assassination for every new track, I'll not be able to take it anymore and have to leave the show.

Hence my last desperate hope and justification for his actions till now... And that his current actions doesn't fit the bill because of the suddenness and lack of explanation on writer's part....

It's very undigestable to me...

Does that mean whenever Jhanak leaves him, he'll go right back to Arshi? Is this what I should expect of Ani in the future? It's unbearable.

I'm hoping the Anirudh I came to love is not like that... He can't just flip from one woman to another when going gets tough.... Especially when he's VERY Clear in his heart about whom he loves...💔

I will just say this much that it is a consistent theme in the show that they keep showing Ani going back to believing Srishti's lies after some time. Like in the aag track, he first doubted Jhanak after hearing Srishti scream Jhanak tried to kill Arshi....then he flipped when Srishti was revealed as the culprit and he bashed her a lot and taunted her about this incident for some weeks....but then few weeks later he stopped mentioning it and again fell for Srishti's lies about Jhanak-AK's live-in relationship...yes, Jhanak fueled the MU but it started with Srishti's lies.

Now again in this current track, Srishti/Arshi will try to spread the narrative that Nutan and her father have killed Jhanak and try to deflect attention from Srishti's part in planning Jhanak's murder....Ani may or not may not fall for it again - I'm guessing yes he will cuz that is how Arshi is diverting his mind from thinking about pursuing the case against Srishti....that is why he is being shown backing down from his suspicion of Srishti and being servile in front of Arshi again.

They are laying the groundwork to pit him against Jhanak/Nutan in some form again and since he has accepted Jhanak is dead, they are going to try and make him MU Nutan and clash with her so that there is no scope of communication even if Jhanak tries to tell him the truth at some point....Srishti's job in the story is to poison the well always...and it seems they are in the process of poisoning Ani's mind again....this time against Nutan.

But still, all the things you mentioned in which Ani succumbed to Shrishti/Arshi manipulations was when he was trying to move on from Jhanak because he believed she doesn't love him and there's nothing left to hold on to.

But ab toh he's very clear na, he loves jhanak and even if jhanak doesn't accept him he CAN'T ADJUST with Arshi anymore... He didn't even want her to touch him aur ab yeh kya....

Arey it's undigestible to me also ....but unfortunately Leena's only story in this show is forcing some kind of back and forth for Ani between Jhanak and Arshi. Those of us who have suffered through 350 episodes can attest to this

No matter how far fetched it looks, she keeps doing this. And she does this by invalidating big events....like Ani's HA was such a huge incident where Arshi openly showed her inhumanity towards Ani....for few weeks, many characters ranted, made a big deal about it....but now with time, it is being whitewashed, normalized, forgotten simply because Jhanak has disappeared....lol....and this is how Leena will try to justify it that Ani isn't INTENDING to go back and forth between Jhanak and Arshi but he feels hopeless and confused each time he loses Jhanak and then he gets beaten down by people around him into giving in.....this is why they've given Ani a few weeks of trying to fight for Jhanak before now cowing him down ki woh lad lad ke ek din thak gaya and again made peace with what's in front of him.

Since they've shown Ani openly declaring his love for Jhanak, now they will either show him second guessing himself again based on Arshi's taunts or they will just continue with the narrative that he knows he still loves Jhanak but is trying to go back to "normal life" like his family demanded....lol
