I think this dialogue "I do not want to get anything more than what I deserve" was planted for a reason. I am sure he'd outrightly refuse the offer n give her the money tomorrow for Z's treatment. Maybe in the future, when he finally proposes (whenever that might be), she’ll struggle to say no, given how he was there for her when she needed financial help the most and she'll enter into a contract marriage/or it could even be a real one.
