HBO's Harry Potter series will be more detailed than the films, confirmed Warner Bros' television head Channing Dungey during a recent media interaction.

I am looking forward to it. I love the books so much and there was so much the movies couldn't show due to time constraints.

The series would be able to do justice but then again, there also this thing of the actors. Daniel, Rupert, Emma, Tom and all the other actors have become the face of those characters for so long that it would be tough to see a different actor play that character.

My only requirement - each book be a season that runs at least 40 episodes long with every detail of the book kept intact. Yeah yeah I know. High hopes.

I just hope that they get Goblet of fire right....i want EVERY subplot to be included in the show

I have no opinions on the casting for Harry, Hermione and the kids cos they will have to be kids, you know. So no established actors will do. They'll probably have a nation wide casting call like they did for the movies and these kids will be big stars in future (or maybe not going from the fate of Rings of Power).

Whatever I feel about it, I think this series will have takers provided they do something really different from the movies.

I just wanna see some of my fave Brit stars in it if I have to tune in.

Jonny Bailey (Idk who he can be but I want him there ), Tom Blyth (He'd make a great Voldy or young Voldy), Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry (I don't care if they play wands or brooms, I just want them there!), Alfred Enoch (He played Dean Thomas already, get him back! Kingsley Shacklebolt maybe?). Emma Thompson needs to be there too in whatever capacity . And David Tennant and Michael Sheen! Miranda Richardson too! Oh the entire cast of Good Omens- TYVM! Dev Patel! (Please get him!) Sendhil Ramamurthy (even though he's American)

I know this won't happen - they might not have the budget to get really well-known faces. So we'll be stuck with an underwhelming cast ala Rings of Power. Unless we have some breakout stars like in HoTD and The Crown. I just hope they have more diverse casting for the leads.

Will Gary Oldman, the original Sirius, play Dumbledore in the new HBO series?

The rumoured casting for Severus Snape doesn't make things look promising TBH. HBO promised fidelity to the source material and they can't even get the look right.
