Greetings to all members!
Does anyone here know or remember the TV serial Anamika which was telecast on Sony TV from November 2012 until September 2013?
What was your favorite episode or scene? Who is your favorite character in the serial? Any thoughts on the plot or story?
For me, my favorite character was the title character, the mysterious woman, the churail, the model, Anamika and everything about her. Though I do like some of the other characters like Nani, Rano, Jasleen etc too as they had their quirks which vere funny, endearing etc.
As for my favorite scenes. I liked the scenes of Jeet's initial metting with Anamika, the conversations they had throughout the show, the kaala dhaaga and subsequent marriage scene, Anamika's dinner and dance for Jeet, the scene when Jeet walked into a room of Anamika's house and found 16 bodies there, attempting to escape only to get teleported back to Anamika's bungalow and ultimate get to get to know Anamika is an atript aatmaa, - What? Wait, I thought Anamika was a churail which is different from an atript aatmaa... The list of scenes I like in the show is rather long. So...
My thoughts on the show is that I appreciate the efforts the actors put into their roles even though some of them were spoiled, the design of the sets were one of a kind, especially Anamika's bungalow in the woods etc.
As for the storyline, I personally would have preferred if the serial focused more on Anamika, her past, her life etc along with the connection of Jeet and Rano to Anamika rather than unnecessarily focusing on Jeet and his loved ones. A far better story and backstory for Anamika rather than the cliched ghisa pita one which the writers presented would have been preferable. Focusing the story on Anamika, Jeet and Rano with all three of them through until the end, showing Anamika acting on her own in her ventures to win Jeet and ultimately attaining mukti would have been far more captivating. Not attaching Anamika to the powers of Satan - who does not even exist in Hinduism -, Patalika and Chandaal or making her tha apparition of a hideous old woman would have kept Anamika gray shaded and not adding unecessary or annoying characters or revamping it would have made the screen play far more interesting. Anamika remaining gray shaded rather than turning her completely evil would have made it easier for people to understand where Anamika was coming from and possibly empathize with her.
There are many other personal thoughts I have in relation to the Anamika serial and observations I have made since I started watching it on YouTube a year and two months after it went off the air. But more on that in later comments.
