I agree on the episode milestone part. Right now only that milestone completion seems to be the agenda of PH.

Star Plus does have lot of projects in pipeline and they could experiment with new shows if they wanted to. 9:30 is a prime slot and any good show with decent writing would take off. Example would he Durga, the show is doing so well and is getting 1+ TRP in a channel like Colors. Not like they have not tried to shut the show down earlier and the TRPs at that point were much higher (3+).

Honestly, the fluctuations are not small. From 8+ in gen 1 to 4+ in gen 2, the show has fallen to 2.2-2.4 in gen 4. Rishta may have a loyal fanbase but the current standards are pushing more and more of the said fanbase away. The numbers will not stay stable if shit like VV’s OTT drama is the kind of script they are gonna be writing.

but it's not just about rishta. No tv show is able to generate more than 3+ trp due to ott. There was a time when shows used to get 8+,10+ trps because there was no other medium like ott. Nowadays people don't watch tv shows like they used to before.

I meant that for rishta, they average 2.2 every week which is not all that great but the stability factor helps it. IF the writing continues like this, then TRPs will dip inevitably and channel might wanna shut it down. Shahi wants this show to beat CID’s runtime which means the show needs to be on air for atleast another 4 years. Aise script se toh na ho paayega inse.
