degradation has happened with female leads too. With little knowledge i have
Gen 1 ak who was just out of college got married understood family dynamics and strived to keep family together
Gen 2 : naira who runs away from every problem but still she did a great job as single mother.
Gen 4: fl freeloads on everyone and gives gyaan. She is okay to take loan for her marriage but prefers to beg on street to have food. She is okay to play victim that she had no money but at the same time trying to match Poddar's by taking loan.
She breaks such costly car when she is actually just have 8rs in her purse. She sacrifices her marriage for a couple who has bad relation and then confess her love before wedding when her ex is marrying someone else and even dreams about her ex who is someone's fiance until pregnancy.
Ak singhania will be ashamed of her pothi and par pothi. Don't want to include naira as i have not seen full story of her. Based on what i saw the fl are getting degraded every gen and they will degrade them further. Sp ka trend chal raha to show FL as narcissists so yrkkh is no different.
This is my pov you are free to disagree 🙂
Gen 1 - though i have not seen is set in an era where girls are married off young and how a girl needs to be balance her mayka and sasural and her husband is given more priority. It fits the era it was introduced. There was never a degradation of character
Gen 2 - have not seen it completely. But it is about two young immature individuals
. Abhira IS self sufficient. The reason for the marriage was to abhira protection from the mad psycho who was trying to forcefully marry her daughter.
And Gen 4 - I completely disagree. Abhira had lost everything at that point. You seriously think any bank would give her loan, she had no job, no support system, no guarantee for loan.
And right now she is a practicing lawyer. She has a certification and the banks will give her loans. Don't mix the twi. It makes no sense.
And most importantly she is not taking loan to match the podaars. Its because she doesn't want to be a freeloader as you said. She was in that house for nine months as their bahu. Marriage is a costly event and the fact that she feels there isn't any contribution from her side suggests a very self respecting women who is aware of the respect her dead parents needs to have in the wedding process.
Conveying a fact that she doesn't have money doesn't mean she is victimising herself. Taking a loan is not to prove she is in par with podaars. It is to remove the narrative of her being a free loader and a gold digger.
She tried to unite people who were like her parents. It wasn't her place to decide and too young to judge if they deserved to or not.
And she did not purposely confess to armaan about her feelings. Ar was pestering about it and she blurted the truth.
And "dreaming about her ex till pregnancy"...what pregnancy???
Atleast she did not dream about her brother in law when wrapped around the arms of her husband.
