Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein showed a significant improvement over the actor's last movie Sarfira but the overall opening remained low to the standard of Akshay who has continuously delivered very good starts at the box office.

According to the early estimates, the comedy-drama scored in the range of 5 crores net on its first day which is in sync with projections. The movie started slow in the morning shows but showed significant improvement post that with occupancy around 50%.

The initial word of mouth for Khel Khel Mein seems to be okay and it should see improvement, especially on Saturday and Sunday which needs to be seen.

I think the bad reputation Akshay and his movies have taken over the years has also been a factor in this film's reception. People are not willing to so easily trust another one of his movies as they expect more of the same.

BOI is not reporting their numbers in a seperate article since they are low, before anyone assumes i posted in the wrong thread.

The disappointment is the other two films Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein have struggle dto do with the latter being around 6 crore nett and the former around 4.50 crore nett mainly because being a holiday Vedaa is stronger in mass pockets while Khel Khel Mein mainly collected in the big multiplexes.. But these numbers are dull for a big holiday.

There is a 6-week clear run for #KhelKhelMein and #Vedaa, with no major competition. While the starts are not so impressive, it will be interesting to see if the films manage to hold on at a certain number through the free run and reach a respectable number.
