Love your post but can relate with Rekhaโs comments more.
For me itโs not a balance where you weigh their actions and call one or the other out.
Being in a position of power wrt money, family support, age, experience, stability, respect - in all areas Ani has a significant advantage over J.
Hence he will be judged more harshly. J even surviving in a toxic house like BH is a credit to her. The few times she has given in to her feelings over her stance regarding Ani Arshi relationship cannot be equated with the number of times Ani stood by and watched mute while J was insulted or insulted her himself.
I like Ani in spite of what he has done bcos his intent has always been good. Do I want to see Runak? of course but when the playing ground is stable and both have introspected their actions. I want to see Ani realizing his mistakes and paying for his deeds as he deserves whatever he is getting. Itโs not black or white - Team Ani or Team Jhanak. Itโs the whole show. Do I enjoy Adi yes I do. It should not be itโs either Adi or Ani - we can like both and enjoy Jโs journey with both. I like the current situation because itโs something new. It was lovely watching Ani protect J in his own wrong yet contrived way for the first 200 episodes. What a character - manipulative but only for Jhanak yet honoring his promises to Arshi. But for how long. Do I want to watch the same for the next 100 - no? The story had to move forward. As long as Leena keeps core characteristics of a character intact and the story is logical I will enjoy it. So far however low Ani has dropped - itโs consistent with the story and his characterization. I always knew the story would go this way, and also feel even if Runak get together they will always have a troubled life. One itโs itv and also dependent on how the story has been crafted thus far.
Also I hear so many comments that Krushal should leave the show. Why?? He is playing the part of a weak but good man and doing a damn fine job of it. If actors only took on roles where the character would be an upstanding citizen an ideal son friend husband etc. that would be detrimental to the actor. With Jhanak he is getting to play a wide gamut of behaviors. All the better for his career. He will be happy that he gets to explore this wide range. He should be trolled for Ani and hailed as Krushal.
Last, have to say after all this my tolerance ends where Ani Arshi equation is concernedShow Ani barely tolerating her, Arshi manipulating Ani, Ani unhappy; all fine. The minute I see pda from them Iโm out. I will not like to see their marriage get registered. Letโs see how brave or stupid Lena is.
I donโt think Ani will continue to run after J. They will likely show Ani being brainwashed by Arshi to suspecting J and Adi and then think Arshi is the best wife, making the Runak rift wider. Another 100 episodes for any romantic Runak.
@PPakโฆ๐thanks for the replyโฆ I relate to your views on several things you have written.. although some points which I have highlighted in bold and bold/underlined I have a different take and this isnโt about this serial Jhanak per se though I will take the example of Runak to explain my point.
Bold - The story projected is of Runak.. if the writerโs intention is to show that the titular character made a wrong choice and that she must be wary of such choice, it would make sense to project Aditya as a replacement because the narrative throughout will be indicative of that, but my sincere question to you is that how you saw the narrative shape up until the Kashmir track? That Leena is telling us that in the future Ani is going to be a troublesome suitor so letโs avoid him and move on to the next best thing who is also luckily at hand. Why did the writer take so much pains to tell us this take to avoid Ani? She could spared us this whole rigmarole if her intention was to tell us a move on story. Btw I am not principally against moving onโฆ itโs part of life so if in art why not if you can sell me an evocative tale on moving on!! My issue is not with who Adi isโฆ my issue is if the narrative wants to place the onus of character development in an underhand manner. About Runak having a troubled life, sorry I donโt careโฆsimply becos no one can ever guarantee that there wonโt be trouble in apparent paradise. Which is why I get off after happily ever after. Itโs not that tales post happily ever after are not worth telling.. they are but then the narrative to choose must start from thereโฆ
In my view I think while analysing a character one must be sincere in appreciating how much of the narrative is plot device, how much is excuse for poor characterisation, how much of all the bad screenplay is an excuse for poor creativity and last but not the least plain expediency. For instance on what core characteristic should Ani have assumed that Jhanak was looking to harm Arshi? Since they wanted to engineer a separation they made Ani ambivalent in the entire trackโฆ
Yet despite that we are watching ๐๐๐ I donโt know what it says about us all
