Another question friends -- what is the meaning of the title "mann jogi" Since this drama feels serious and more literary, am assuming the title wasn't chosen randomly and has some poetic links to the themes and characters.

In the trailer, it looked like they were hiding from Shabbir. Is it just because he is psycho? Or is it because the marriage would not be seen as real and it would be more akin to running away with a lover? (that was my assumption from the trailer and so I wasn't prepared to see them actually get married in the first episode).

The marriage is very much legal and technically shabbir has no right over her now she is nothing to him and is free to live with Ibrahim if she is content in that relationship and wishes too..she has no obligation of any kind towards shabiir unless she isnpregnant in which case the talaq is invalid until she gives birth ( this bit I am not 100%sure about) but i know the talaq doesn't happen if the wife is pregnant.

They seem to be hiding caz he is a psycho and because his plan seemed to have flopped as of now caz they probably want to give this a chance as she sees it as freedom he has gone psycho and thinks he owns them and is being betrayed.

It means jogi as in sufiyana terms and mann means Heart toh it loosely translates into dil deewana ho gaya in a sufi way and in devotional way towards Ibrahim as in theg found thag kind of love and support in each other . That is my understanding

You got it right. It’s after three proper talaqs that a woman becomes haram for a man. Upto two talaqs there is no halala. They can get back together easily. In earlier times men would divorce their women in morning & take them back by the evening. That’s why getting back together was made complicated for them. It was snubbing women of their dignity.

Shabbir was being sarcastic about the parlour thing as his mother had applied makeup on Aaliya & made her wear blingy dress.

I think it’s Aaliya who’ll take a lead in their relationship. She won’t want to leave Ibrahim & he will just oblige.

The second marriage is a valid one. Shabbir is a stranger to her now.

They got married in the dark of the night with Maulvi, Shabbir & his mother as the only witnesses . Shabbir might make it seem like Ibrahim & Aaliya eloped without a proper nikah while she’s still his wife.

So not only Ibrahim but this also hinges very much on Aliyah's wishes and wants. If she chooses to live with this man, she most definitely can and is not doing a sin. If she chooses to not go back to Shabbir even if Ibrahim divorces her, that is also a choice. Basically the story is also about Ibrahim and Aliyah realizing their individuality and the power of the choices they are making for themselves.

However, since this was planned halala, Shabbir and his mom are going to react like these two had an affair and ran off. Am curious to see how Shabbir spins this in front of society. He is not going to admit that he already gave her talaq or that this was planned halala. Or maybe he won't say anything and people will assume all sorts of things and Shabbir will use it for political gain?

It's definitely real. But whatever the circumstances, they said Yes during nikah. I think they are on a run because of Shabbir. Shabbir is an influential and a dangerous person. He'd just force Alia & Ibrahim. Also maulvi is on Shabbir's side.

Additionally, definitely nobody knows that Shabbir had divorced her. Anyway she was in iddat (period after divorce) so she must have been in home for 3 months anyway.

Now bcz Moulvi is on Shabbir's side, he would deny ever marrying Ibrahim & Aliya. People will just think that they eloped.

Oh I see; so if he had said it twice only, then they aren't really divorced?

I can totally see Aliyah taking the lead. She seemed quietly mad and upset that her dignity has been trampled on that she wanted to self-harm herself. She will not go back to Shabbir willingly. Ibrahim in contrast is far more submissive and scared of life and the environment in general -- we don't often see MLs like that and so it will be interesting to see how they make the lead. Hopefully he won't be frustratingly naive like some of those too good hearted to be real FLs.

So we have three witnesses who could all lie for various reasons and make it seem like their relationship isn't real. Moulvi who for whatever reason is supporting Shabbir, mom who thinks the home needs to be maintained at whatever cost and Shabbir who just wants his toy back. If the truth came out, then all three witnesses would face some sort of social backlash right?
