Bold 1- She might not be for you because of the reasons you mentioned below. For me she looks convincing because at the end of the day the root is that she is a victim of her mother's upbringing. She clearly reeks of the effects of toxic parenting- one that is a narcissist. Hence her fear of failure in her career is inculcated in her by her mother because she is not worthy of her otherwise. In one way I feel she fears being alienated from her mother more than her career or Ani or anything else, because that is what victims in such cases do. They go down the wrong path, one because they don't know anything else, two because they yearn for recognition.
I am not saying she is completely a victim; she is still bad because as you said above, she had the sense of what her mother was doing wrong, but still chose to support her anyways.
Bold 2- You may be right, but she still is not smart like Ani to know when to shut her mouth.
All of this will actually make her a very interesting Vamp when it happens. I am all in for seeing a new shade in Arshi, though I know tumhe sirf RuNak se matlab hai.
You know your this post reminded me of one of my recent favourite movie " Qala"...I had initially thought that Arshi 's character would be a character inspired from that..
Qalaβs case, too, . Growing up in a strictly hierarchical environment where her mother is also her teacher and her master, her caretaker and guardian, and seemingly the main influence in her life, Qala has internalised her motherβs dreams for her and dedicates her whole life and career trying to win her approval, even to the detriment of her own sanity and wellbeing. Throughout the movie, one can see Qala following her momβs commands without questioning it.....
I also saw the glimpse of this in her ...Hungry for validation from a mother whose prejudices are extremely extrinsic finding herself nailed into the loop of being inadequate and deficient in her motherβs eyes....The essence of dance has lost its meaning for her as her priority shifts to gratify her mother..
But then gradually I lost that connection... I started disliking her more and more for how she was presented...she appeared classist and elitist to me...and became just a tool in her mother's hand
On the contrary I found this "death mother archetype" more prevalent with Ani...
I have read about this concept & it says Death Mother wields a cold, fierce, violent, and corrosive power. When Death Mother's gaze is directed at us, it penetrates both psyche and body, turning us into stone. It kills hope. It cuts us dead. We collapse..
I found that with Tanuja...This energy is most destructive when it comes from somebody that we love and trust. Like he is with somebody who is supposed to love him and all of a suddenβ bang! Itβs what happened in the original trauma; we trusted our beloved mother and suddenly we were hit with the realization that we were not acceptable. We realized that our mother wished that we, or some part of us, was dead.... Isn't it the same with Tanuja???...
She knows her son's happiness lies with whom..She probably understands what their actions are doing to him..yet she is there doing her things pushing him towards a metaphorical death...
But yes...one thing is sure that she has grown up seeing her parents' failed relationship soo may be she is also carrying that intergenerational trauma of making her romantic relationship work at any cost....so she tried to cling to Ani ....but nothing justifies the way she has chosen to deal with it by attacking the weaker one... wishing evil for her...
And I also think that Arshi also exhibit same symptoms of narcicism by victimising herself to a large extent.... always resorting to emotional manipulation, guilt-tripping...
Soo mother-daughter duo are narcissistic characters ...but Arshi is more dangerous...

I know bcz uska charm alag tha but makers ko itne degrade nhi krna chye k mazaq ban jye.
Oh okk.. then Sr. Guru ji is surely a vile humanβ¦ poor Urvashi, I donβt want her daughter to face something similar.. but I am not liking the way jhanak is being portrayed.. every woman thinks jhanak is after her bf or fiancΓ©, randomly character assassinate her and woh kuch bolti bhi nahiβ¦ agar yahi dikhana tha toh Kolkata se Mumbai ka safar kyu hi diya? Just to show anishi romance? And ani being full time caretaker of his beloved..Originally posted by: 1PariGupta
No Urvashi didn't know Sr. Guruji was married n had kids
Poor Urvashi trapped by Guruji n suffer a lot with Jhanak
Don't say sorry Dear we r here to share our opinions our thinking regarding the show charactersOriginally posted by: asmitamohanty
You know this forum is a place where different people from different backgrounds with different mindset , different opinions come together to discuss show and characters...So for every opinions there will be agreements and arguments as well...
Plus here there is no word limits giving everyone a chance to speak and express their heart out...All we can do is accept and respect all kinds of opinions....
So here dismissing someone's opinion saying that it is just your blind love for the character and neutrals very well know about other characters can definitely be avoided as I don't think it is needed....
As much as I know here Everyone loves RuNak.... that's why most of us are here...in a way most are biased & do partiality towards them...
Sorry!! no intention to offend but saw your post and felt like saying this.....
Again sorry if I am being offensive..but that's not the intention....
yes I agree with u we r here for RuNak the dreamy couple so our love for RuNak is above everything
I m sorry If my words hurts anyone here n specially Maya so sorry Dear

Okay so rather than standing up for any one of those three - Ani, Jhanak and Arshi.
I would say all have made their own choices and mistakes. And not one of them is completely black or white.
Ani is a caring but short sighted guy. He craves love but is confused what is love. Is that a flaw? Nope. But the decisions he took in confusion has hurt others and even himself. He needs classes of self-love first n foremost.
Jhanak is too naive and weak. Rarely when she has people who stand by her is when she stands strong else maintains a passive stance on everything. She needs many classes of how to stand up for yourself and how to fight for your self respect.
Arshi is a modern girl. She appears high class but is easily influenced by her momβs negativity overshadowing her fatherβs good qualities. Being quiet to a crime is also a crime. She has been passively but involved in few of ploys against Jhanak. She needs to know to let go for her own betterment. She is talented and doesnβt need anyone.
Now coming to todayβs epi. You have to understand each of them is flawed and in their opinion and mindset they have suffered a lot. Which is true.
But does this negate their wrong decisions?Ani lied his way throughout leading J to be name called by his family. He did the stupid performance with Arshi giving her false hopes. He didnβt take a clear stand infront of everyone that he doesnβt love Arshi anymore!
Jhanak remained passive to her insult always. She doesnβt have a drive towards her own career even when she says she wants a career but doesnβt take the opportunity thinking it will land in her lap which frankly is happening lol.
Arshi was vengeful in going ahead with marriage when she could see how Ani wasnβt the same guy who she loved. For her everything is a competition against Jhanak. Ani is the trophy. She can break it off with Ani but is she doing it ? Nope
Every few epi we will see the story from the eyes and emotions of each of them. All three suffered. You will feel bad when you realise the damage their OWN wrong choices have lead them to.
Lets not assume one is wrong and other is right watching these confrontations. Because for each one the others have done something which has hurt them. Peace out my ladies!
Makers are avoiding any leaps and showing us these dragfest so that we understand each of their complex feelings, their highs and lows, their misfortunes, their struggle to take a stand. The makers are being extremely practical from other shows usual phases. It bothers most of us alot and its seems boring, but I guess the writer want to utilize her story in a broader sense so she could stretch it for as long as the time permits and obviously viewers tolerance. Hopefully we can come into a little fast pace with RuNak. Itβs almost 250 episodes and our leads havenβt come to any conclusion. Donβt want more repetitive scenes. Itβs time for them to start their track and then perhaps explore other things keeping them into the same frame.
Very well written...
You have explained all the three characters with their different perspective..
