Some members have expressed concern about posts being deleted. They suggest implementing checks earlier in the process to avoid the need for deletion later so this is being done considering that.

By the way, we’ll explore methods to ensure that clearing +1 posts doesn’t affect the Ladder Group, User Level, or their post count.

I suggest there should be validation checks that dont let a user post at all if it is under whatver minimum limit IF decides. And also for other validations that may lead to post deletion.

Like we already have for 3-5 minutes validation message that doesn't let us post till time has passed.

It can be easily done by excluding quoted part and sanitizing string and then prevent the post submission. It will hence lead to no deletion of posts smiley4

I have started using ( 5 dots with spaces)

. . . . . While posting images or gifs. smiley36 It bypasses the 5 word limit.

Even single alphabets with space work.

Dear Members,

We appreciate your continued participation and enthusiasm in our forum. Recently, we've implemented a minimum word count restriction, requiring at least 4 words or 20 characters per post. We understand that this change might be a bit inconvenient, and we want to explain why it's necessary for the health and growth of our community.

Why We Made This Change

Improving Content Quality: High-quality content is crucial for making our forum engaging and informative. Posts with more meaningful content spark better discussions and provide more value to all members.

Attracting New Members: Search engines like Google prefer pages with substantial content. If our forum has lots of short, low-quality posts, it can negatively impact our search rankings. This means fewer new members discovering and joining our community.

Community Growth: A vibrant community relies on a steady influx of new members. Search engines are a major source of new visitors. By improving our content quality, we ensure that our forum remains attractive to search engines and, consequently, to potential new members.

Your Role in This Change

We need your cooperation to make this forum a better place for everyone. By taking a little extra time to write thoughtful posts, you help us create a richer, more engaging environment. This small effort on your part can make a big difference in attracting and retaining members, ensuring our community remains lively and interesting.

Addressing Concerns

Some of you have mentioned that the forum feels less active or interesting. This minimum word restriction is part of our efforts to address these concerns by promoting more meaningful interactions. We believe that over time, this will lead to more vibrant discussions and a more enjoyable experience for all.

We understand change can be challenging, but we're committed to making this forum the best it can be. Your cooperation and understanding are vital to achieving this goal.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for helping us grow and improve.

Best regards,

India Forums Team
