He surrendered himself to the situation. Yes he could have taken the courage to break it but unfortunately he had or has no himmat as he himself states. Had he anyone with him to support his decision he would have done it .
The numerous hints to Arshi and Shristi infront of his whole family of cancelling the marriage . I am ok If you cancel the marriage ,I respect your decision if you break the marriage ...they are not just words it hopes for him.
Yes he is not breaking it not only because he is weak but also he is feeling bad to break his commitment to a girl . As far as Jhanak is concerned there is no such commitment , he expressed his dil ki baat which wasnt reciprocated .And so he didnt find motivation to break his marriage and bring the BH upside down . Falling out of love he can do all ...but for the he had to have support having shown him as emotionally weak when it comes to himself and the happiness for others .
With a support of even Coton he would have survived to break the marriage without tarnishing Jhanak, as he is capable of it . But alas Choton too isn't a strong support for Anirudh.If he had stood by him same as how he supported Jhanak during jail sequence , wont Anirudh take a stand himself . For him he has to do it all alone. I dont blame a young man finding no strength to break his marriage when his decision effects a lot of people.
He declaring Arshi has his wife is definitely not needed ....but for thet they prepared us with Dr and emotional trauma. The entire BH favouring Arshi to come home as Bahu and he denying it might cause Arshi trauma and so this young man is agreeing to it. He has no choice than to say no need more rituals . The sad part is there is hardly anyone who could decode his words or emotions in the family . We should have been his family !!!
Anirudh is caught in a whirlpool of emotions from losing Jhanak , dealing with his own sadness , to making Arshi and family happy....he is dying inside which is going unrecognised by Tanuja .....
Regarding his love for Jhanak.... all his confession, to his care , concern , anger , frustrations, jealousy , risking his life every single time and even now taking stand for her in her absence is all love for her....
If the show is about they being together then this mumbai track should do it , else it is the og regional show being remade with marriage not done legally for keeping viewers hooked .

It’s the characters’ story never ours.. so we believe what the makers put out. When a scene is analysed…there will be interpretations and only the writer can say that any of our interpretations are right on the money. Until then… we will plod along
like I said earlier.. for me this lovestory works only if I believe the character’s motivations and challenges and for me it’s belief in both their issues not just one. For me it’s central to my belief in their need to be together… only if both want it will it or should it happen!!
So I was always ready to accept that just Ani wanting it will not make this love story fructify without Jhanak owning up to it . At the same time, I was ready to accept that Jhanak cannot own up to their love because she is not yet ready to believe that their love can weather the storms that will come their way. It’s not important in a love story who first has belief in its existence, it will survive only when both nurture it. In that, both have failed and I say both because, one couldn’t demonstrate that their love had an independent existence (despite pushing Jhanak hard for owning up to the love, Ani wasn’t able to talk to Jhanak about the elephant in the room - Arshi - ( figurative before Arshi stans get after me); why their love would triumph over his older bon
and Jhanak did not believe it could survive the tempest becos of her own past experiences and inability to trust that Ani would make it right!! That is classic stalemate!!
Also, love is hard work… why should it not face challenges?
That they were meant to part was never in doubt in the circumstances; but how they made this happen has left a bad taste in our mouth as the writers have gone hammer and tongs on the character easier to malign 😀 our dear boy Ani when they made him doubt Jhanak without any justification whatsoever
So today when Ani speaks in such terms, it causes doubt in the minds… In the past Ani used to tell lies all the time and we knew every lie 😂😂 today his truth became hard to swallow..
Accepting that both lovers have given up on their love is a bitter pill to swallow… But hopefully they will find the strength to rise like the phoenixes
