That’s what I was able to decipher and by going over other cast members Ivs, it’s clear that everyone including Ani are trying to engage in process to find who was the culprit. Ani didn’t have much time to plan and plot. He did what he could do. I probably don’t need any further explanation but I am hoping at least writer give one solo scene of Anirudh so that his actions towards J can be justified.

Yes Ani is doing the best he could do with limited time ...and whatever way he can...

He is definitely not playing with brain... otherwise he could have checked the cctv.. searched for any other witnesses except Shrishti who even he knows is not reliable...he is not doing it..

Soo I believe he is too shocked with the circumstances to function cerebrally...he is doing whatever he can do in her favour out of impulse...he is still in that numb state...

But glad that when Ani is soo much torn..Minu stepped up and did the right thing and saved her....
