Kalki 2898 AD Huge Growth On Second Saturday - Kill Second Day Business

Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) consolidated its second Friday hold with huge growth on Saturday as it collected around 16.75 crore nett. The jump was around 80% which is very good for a film which has such a wide release.

The mass pockets have now settled at a level after weekday drops and Sunday should get a further push though weekdays may be tougher. The film is cruising to the 200 crore nett mark and will become the highest Hindi grosser this year today as it crosses the Fighter numbers. The film had crossed Fighter in many circuits within the first seven days itself.

The difference between this film and RRR will generally be the business in UP and Gujarat but the Hindi version has scored far higher numbers in Mysore as compared to the Hindi version of Kalki. The film probably has the best ratio ever in the South for a Hindi version of a South film with a 10% ratio coming from Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and TNK which is pretty close to what many Hindi original films would do. Kill collected 2 crore nett on day two jumping around 60% but it makes little difference as the initial was too low for a film of this genre. The genre has its limitations post the opening day in terms of growth and here its also a 1000 plus screen release for a film with limited appeal and many of these are just not going to grow much.

The two day business of the film is 3.30 crore nett which is far too low and on top the areas which do better for action are underperforming. The audience in these belts have probably seen it like a violent thriller or something and generally kept away. The collections of Kill are as follows.

Kalki could come close to nearing 300cr in Hindi version alone given how just this 2nd week will already have it grossing nearly 50cr in 3days, so week 2 should end with 75 cr easily
