Probably after a long time Anirudha’s true self concealed from the world of compliance and expectations only found an expression in Kashmir where he allowed himself to lean closer to himself..

You know I could imagine him demanding his parents attention in his childhood only to get brutally denied by them..it breaks my heart to imagine how he must have developed his coping mechanism of vaporizing his angst, and giving himself a pep talk ‘to be cool'..& supress his identity and inner desire

It breaks my heart to see how he reacts to the emotional distance and lack of consideration from her mother..It is not anger, disappointment or shock..It is just silent acceptance...he has been through it so much that it doesn't matter... Someone who does not even have any expectations from his mother,his accepting in front of Jhanak that he expects a lot from her means a lot...

But is it fair for Jhanak to carry that burdurn of his expectations...No....

Does he realise that may be Jhanak is not ready at this point to give him what he wants...so he must step up...no...

Bcz probably he himself is not ready...

This rejection (in a way) from Jhanak has caused a mental breakdown in him...as according to him he has created a perfect personality called Aniruddh Bose...how can she reject like this...

But the point is Jhanak Ko kabhi fark pada hi nahin uske Aniruddh Bose hone se... Jhanak loves Aniruddh ,as long as he is not embracing Aniruddh...his relationship with Jhanak can never be a smooth one...

Yes. It's quite hard to explain unless I am in that state actually right now. Maybe normal depression can be handled as how you said (Bold), but sometimes you experience this vast sense of emptiness that just leaves a void in you. Things that you love, new things you try... none help. That is what clinical depression is. Sometimes, your mind is attracted to the same things you experience (red) as a way of reaffirmation. It's kind of difficult to explain.

Green- I get it. I really do. You remind me of the notion I have heard from Telugu people (my colleagues) that they don't even like sad endings because it is too realistic, and entertainment isn't meant to be that way. But the way they showed unaliving attempts in this show is not how I would want them to show anything mental health related at all. If you show something have the spine to show it correctly. It isn't always possible to have lighthearted scenes all the time if you want relatability. Human lives have both sad and happy moments, and they should show them both.

If it is expected that characters behave realistically, then isn't it also within expectations that they break down and show depression as a real person would?

I haven’t watched the old episodes that attentively, but looking at pieces here and there I understand that even Jhanak didn’t have a childhood she deserved. Through her mother’s entire life she has seen her torn and going through unimaginable insults on her character, being called names, worked hard to get butter and bread on the table. I am sure Jhanak’s lack of confidence in love has to do with how she never experienced or witnessed any love between her own parents. She hasn’t even known anything about her dad.


You know in numerous clinical studies it’s been proven how parents bond can influence a child’s development and personality as they grow up. The first people that a child idealized are his/her parents. Unfortunately, Jhanak was not lucky enough to witness any of that. Instead, she has seen how her mother has craved for husband’s love all her life. Urvashi actually demotivated her for many things even though Jhanak had talent. So yes it’s actually can put a greater impact on a child. In Jhanak’s case, it’s the same situation. Poor girl! 😭

@bold: I thought I was reading my own bonding with my mom.🥹 It’s similar to yours. Since I don’t have a sister of my own, my mom has been a friend to me, my sister, my guide!

Exactly..... for Jhanak..she never had a father..her mother was her world... whenever her mother was called names ,humiliated for her character..Jhanak must have felt immensely guilty...

Though she had no role or fault in how and why her mother chose to bring it into the world...but it must be really tough to not think of herself as the reason for her mother's plight...as she knows that her father had abandoned them...

And her mother I don't think ever made any active efforts to tell her how special she is..or how it's not her fault....

She didn't make her fly...rather cut her wings unknowingly..

That's why she still thinks Aniruddh deserves someone way better than her..Arshi is better...

Intense feeling of guilt, shame, anxiety..of Jhanak is the result of the way she was brought up only....
