As usual an amazing analysis from you!😍Originally posted by: rysohini
Beautiful takes on the epi Maya, Anum and Vira.
I saw two beautiful but broken souls torn between their intent to do what is technically right vs what their heart feels is right!
1.J had said this before that she doesn’t want Ani to be humiliated at the hands of his evil family ( when she came to his room to ask for bank documents).
2.And her self respect had taken a back seat a long time back. For her, she wants to stay in BH, doing her wife duties for Ani and seeing him happy n healthy in front of his eyes.
1 and 2 are mutually exclusive though
I felt and I could be wrong here, that Ani just might be prepared to let her go, for her own good! Like he did when she left for Kashmir! All these beizzati s and she telling him, that she is saho’ing it for him, could be too much of a guilt his heart could bear after a point. He could realise he is not the right fit for J dur to his association with BH.
There is a certain oblivion that Ani goes through, that I don’t understand, “mujhe isme galat kuchh nehi laga” , in a lot of situations, that might look not so sahi to the naked eye! This time around, his had been a genuine solution, towards trying to seek a safe asylum for J and not thinking beyond , on how the society would perceive it.
Lastly, on him wanting to take his own life, while it would be very un-Ani like, he has been cornered from all ends by everyone, for the last how many days now, with no possible way to escape! What doesn’t help is his innate goodness that prevents him from being the badass he needs to be!
How many times have we faced situations in life jaha we knew hume yeh karna chahiye, but hum nehi kar paye due to some reason or the other?
“Chickened Out” is a word isn’t it? And it could result from fear, uncertainty, happiness of others, promises, that can’t be broken, a line that cannot be crossed and so onSince this PH has a weird obsession for suicides, and 2 out of the 3 central characters have gone that route, I would never want it but I would not be surprised! But if this makes J go all out, breaking all shackles that bind her, if it makes Shubho n Tanuja realise what their son has been going through, if it makes Arshi’s character to accept and move on n be there as a friend (Vinu’s genes have to be on an overtime) , then it would still serve a purpose! #MethodsVsResults
But if it serves as blamegame sessions for J , with renewed vigour, then please No.Side note- I have seen elderly people in my house talk about death casually, like “ab bbas aur kya, kuchh hi din mein marr hi jayenge” While it kinda normalised the reality of death, I don’t know whethe such talks are more prevalent in Bong households or otherwise. But I have not seen our generation engage in it, so why a not so God abiding young man talks about it or extracts promises is baffling!
You know sometimes I actually think what will take Ani’s parents to realize what their son is going through? Will he really have to encounter something as severe as life threatening situation to prove his point?
Even though now a days people are very practical especially young generations… but I guess everyone has their limits. Things have to end somewhere. I think we have discussed about his childhood trauma how it could have affected and added to his thoughts on how he perceives a situation. Anirudh has been constantly reminded what he needs to be doing vs what he wants to do. That’s why he said he has become a “Gulam” Not everyone wants to pay attention to his opinions. Everyone expects him to do something that could benefit them in one way or the other. That’s why when Ani feels his opinion won’t matter then he takes a route that goes against everyone’s will. He may not have been like this before, but he has definitely changed his point of view after he met Jhanak and learned so much about her through her mother’s letter. That’s why his “Insaniyat” emotion was so highly induced in him during those times.
And now he is basically torn between love and responsibility. So he is restless and depress because he isn’t able to find someone who can understand his plight without judging him or his intentions.
Mujhe toh dar hi lag raha hai!! Everyday Ani is crying buckets! Kahin flooding na ho jaye!!!
bechare ko itni achchi aankhen mili hain roz rona pad raha hai🥹
Talking abt death among the elderly is quite a common phenomena. I have seen it too. But coming from such an young chap looks suicidal. And that too from Ani - very un-Ani like as you put it. I just hope he gathera enough strength to break free from all these shackles and come out a winner! I was so much into the Ani character, I am unable to fathom this happening in Anis life. They have not shown Ani so close to his parents and nor have Anis parents taken any vaada on their life etc so why is Anis acting like this! He shud gather himself and tell Jhanak to just follow what he says. That way even she will listen and they will also come out of this non-sense. Don't get me wrong - I am all for woman equality and consent and I hate overbearing men who can't discuss anything straight with their wives, but this situation deserves stern action!!!

While I don't like Ani using the context of death for his manipulative purposes, the talk of death is quite prevalent in households let alone in our generation. I think a healthy acceptance of the concept of death should be taught to people, for it is the fear of the unknown after death that makes people concerned- hence the concepts of heaven and hell that men weave to comfort themselves.
My daadi talks about death all the time lol.
You hit the nail on it’s head! While J’s life was that of struggle, Ani’s was no better!
Maybe this is why he seeks a way out but can’t find any! Because he first needs to unlearn being a ghulam! Usse jeene ka dusra tareeqa pata nehi hai, J ke ane se, he is probably starting to opt for self love, choosing himself over the rest! Coz I can make others happy only if I am happy - that’s the reality ❤️
