Cuz her premise is the most relatable to TRP aunties. She is in her late 40s, mother to 3, discovering her husband's affair which prompts a journey on search for her identitiy and freedom. Essentially English Vinglish with more drama. So TRP aunties love Upma to the core cuz they see themseleves in her and happy someone like them gets to live the life they dreamed of.

Btw, the OG bengali version Sreemoi is also written by yours truly, Leena G.
