Your points are valid but if Jhanak doesn't communicate her feelings so how he can go ahead. This is Ani's point of view as she's trying him to conceal his feelings and don't let her feel awkward and at the same time, taunting him with confused words!

But considering Jhanak's perspective, there's no strong reason to stay there without any status!

Both are wrong in their ways! Ani should have acted smartly here, as he is playing with the emotions of another girl too, even though she is evil.
