I have been following Wahaj's work since a long time. And as per me TB and MPHT weren't a downgrade....TB helped him become a household name and get the deserved recognition.....I personally only liked initial episodes and post that it went downhill BUT the drama had a huge following and it was a blockbuster.

Coming to MPHT, it was a decent drama which again got ratings....I agree that it had immense potential which wasn't utilized well but certainly not a downgrade.

The only downgrade as per me was Mein !

In his initial years Wahaj did a lot of mediocre stuff but then he had no say as beggars couldn't be choosers...but now he is in a position to choose and I am hoping he would create a perfect balance of commercial and art projects & go for solid scripts and characters.

Overall, as per me, Wahaj's script selection is pretty decent barring a few projects and tbh there is no actor who has a 100% record in giving only hits and choosing bang on projects each time.

Hoping for SMD & his character to be solid

I think Mein was interesting plot wise but it was rushed. Also, the way Mein was pitched to the audience as a love story didn't go in favour of Mein.

Even if it’s mini series of 20 episodes then two episodes in a week means it will be finished in two and half months I.e on mid July .., am I right here?

I didn't find it interesting . I am not usually one of those people who is fixated upon love stories and pairs. I get hooked to a show if I like the actors and if the script is solid.

Mein's writing was very ordinary, the writer failed in the sense that half of the time audience was unsure as to what the drama was about and what did it intend to showcase. Plus Wahaj's character Zain had no impact whatsoever, it was just poorly written. Even a brilliant actor like Wahaj couldn't save it. At least this is what I feel.

Even MPHT wouldn’t have done much for him in turns of wahaj becoming an A lister and being recognised as a main lead and to be casted against a lister actors. Like for him to be given massive projects that was possible due to TB. The initial 25 episodes were good and fast paced. The buzz and hype plus both YT views and trp were for good reason. It’s a commercial project and they both chose this for a reason. You can do many critical hits but actors like to do commercial projects once in a while. And Wahaj like Yumna and few other a lister actors choose to do commercial projects for a reason. They’ve already made their name in terms of being a fine actor with critical projects.

Exactly. I don’t want to digress from the main topic that’s SMD here but to keep it short, for me personally Wahaj and Yumna have already given their due in terms of experimenting and proving their craft well before getting this popular. Expecting them to continue down the same path is basically asking them not to expand their range as actors and try the commercial stuff. This is their moment. It’s about time they do mainstream commercial projects for a few years. For a lot of actors that’s all they do. Yumna Wahaj ne tou phir bhi pehle apne aap ko manwaaya hai, phir commercial kiya hai.

Bringing this back to SMD, this drama will have romance and lots of drama drama lol. So I’m hoping lots of moments for Wahaj to shine. And Maya and Hira and Usama too, of course. If GM is any clue from KRQ’s recent dramas, this story might be character driven too. Which is always a good thing. Plot is immaterial if you’re not invested in characters so it’s a good thing he invests in characters a lot. Will give actors plenty of scenes to display their range. And they’re all excellent at their craft 👍🏼

Guys do you want this thread to get warning again? What’s the need to discuss other shows of actors in detail in smd thread and mocking their choices or acting. Have you any where seen people doing same in other shows threads? Stick to our main couple leads given as of now wahaj and maya and other cast and mostly smd related only. The other coactors of wahaj and maya and their discussion here for two or three pages is not allowed. We don’t care what their other coactors do right and how they act . Please limit our discussion on smd.
