Yes it was more suitable more Kubra and Ushna to play a foreign character as they are only 2 who could pull it off.

Post her comeback on tv she doesn't hv the numbers becos ptv has changed from what it used to be before she left for films, now numbers means a certain kind of shows and Maya has been very vocal about how she feels about those kind of shows she has chosen not to do them voluntarily n I'm not sure having yt views is any correct indication about the quality of a show anymore ptv has "evolved"

She got a lot if praise for her portrayal of soniya in jbg when it came out, obviously there were no trp n no views but the critical acclaim was there but post tb, jbg became all about W cos of obvious reasons.

Yunhi was a really good performance by Maya yes accent was not American n that was a shortcoming but she was really good in fact great in certain scenes like Kim's confession it was a very diff kinda performance very subtle and understated and clicked with a niche audience it had trp around 6-7 which is good for a hum tv show. But the accent was rightly criticised but to undermine and make her entire performance null n void is funny cos I hv seen pak actresses butcher a local language n it's accent but didn't see this level of undermining.

No it wasn’t, was criticised by a lot of reviewers and her acting was that great. Bilal Ashraf didn’t really amaze with his acting even though it was his tv debut. The ratings weren’t that great either. It’s just another forgotten project nothing memorable that’s what I meant. I guess TB did a lot for Wahaj’s career by making him an A lister and it’s a character that’s memorable for Wahaj along with the show. His on screen chemistry also became a big thing after Fawad and Mahira. Ratings were great. MPHT started off great too and had great ratings at the beginning maybe his character won’t remain as memorable as Murtasim will.

Yunhi ki critical appraisal changed after the first couple of episodes. Watch later episode reviews and you'll see the difference. Unlike other shows yunhi had a very good middle but there were issues with the beginning and towards the end. Let's also separate script from performance. Yunhi deserved different leads I felt. No one says yunhi is a classic but it was definitely an above average script and show.

I could only think of 3 actresses playing a pashto speaking girl's role.

1. Yumna Zaidi 2. Hania Amir and 3. Hiba Bukhari

Yumna Zaidi played a pakhtun girl's role very well. Juniad Niazi, a Pakhtoon himself praises Yumna Zaidi still. The actor who played Yumna's father also praised her. Hiba and Hania both were criticized for their Pakhtoon accent but at least they attempted. I commend and highly rate these other 2 actresses for at least attempting.

That's my main point. Post her comeback she has been choosy and doesn't do typical saas bahu shows

Wasnt Yunhi was a critical success ? Even her bad projects aren't typical saas-bahu stuff. TB and MPHT weren't great scripts too so Wahaj's choices havent been good recently.

Both those scripts are the reason Wahaj is where he is today. You can’t fault him for that. He owes his success and stardom to these. Also to play such different characters at the same time? Any actor would love that challenge to his craft and he aced it. You can nitpick the flaws in the writing but as far as his characters went, how much range there was for him to display and prove himself? He picked the right roles. You don’t get to play a Murtasim every day and a green flag hero like Saad at the same time. I think he must have had a blast flip flopping between these two roles simultaneously 👏

Yes can’t deny that those 2 shows made Wahaj the star he is day but both were a huge downgrade from the stuff he was doing before.
