tfs . I wasn’t aware of all these . I only started paying attention to Cannes since devda . I am gonna go and check details regarding Patil and Shabana azmi movies screened at cannes. Was it arth, what fab movie that was. It was only after Cannes bahurani was all over even Oprah going gaga . So I felt she she make an impact . Bahurani didn't pave any way for other actresses and she isn't the first Indian actress to go global.
Persis Khambata (Miss India Universe 1965) was the first Indian model and actress to go global. She starred in big movies like Star Trek.
Smita Patil and Shabana Azmi were first Indian actresses to have their movies screened at Cannes in 1976.
Diana Hayden (Miss India and Miss World 1997) was L'Oreal's first Indian Brand Ambassador and the first Indian woman to walk the Cannes red carpet for L'Oreal.
None of Bahurani's movies have been selected to be screened at Cannes. Devdas was an out-of-competition screening.
Instead of supporting other women, Bahurani has tried to destroy their careers like she did to Sonam by forcing L'Oreal to prevent Sonam walking the Cannes red carpet in 2009 and Bahurani succeeded in it.
Anyways these walking for met gala , Cannes , photoshoots, yada, no big deal at all. I mostly post all these for fun
